good evening everyone--i am new to this group. I have scoliosis and fibromyalgia. I am 36 yrs old and was diagnosed w/scoliosis when i was 13 and diagnosed w/fms a yr. ago---i also deal with herniated discs due to the scoliosis and the dr's tell me that my scoliosis isn't bad enough to make me hurt. I'm sooooo tired of hearing that as we all know--it does make your back hurt. Any advice on how to get help with the scoliosis part of my pain?

what is the curvature degree? b/c mine [as of last checkd] was 20 [4 years ago] & the first dr. I went to told me that mine wasnt 'active' & wouldnt change so I didnt brace, but low and behold - it was and I wasnt fit with a brace and now Ive stopped growing at almost 5'2" but they say a brace would do no good now that Im not growing, but I think if you're not seeing an actual bone doctor you should consider it. & remind them people are affected differnt ways & they arent you to know how it is; & the herniated disc may be the problem -as a result of the S. & the FMS probably is adding to it. you just gotta try a few approaches- like go in and tell them a few things, not just let them do all the 'this is what it is & how its gonna go' talk they like to give, ha. b/c if Id thought when I was 13 to say somethin instead of just listen, might of been fixed or improved, but Im almost 20 & if I stand too long, walk more than a few, or stand a certain way or lift more than a few; it hurts; & sometimes just for the fun of it; ha its crazy but I guess I should of tried a diff. approach then.

Good Luck! :]
