I'm Sissy, I'm 16 years old, and I've been dealing with Sciatica for...way longer than I thought.

Turns out my nerve has been inflamed for years, ever since my lower back pain started a good three years ago. All it took was doing a split at dance and BAM! pain. I've been hanging on for the past couple of weeks, but I'd love to be able to dance again.

Anyways, it's nice to meet y'all.

Hi Hun

I am sorry you are hurting.

Sounds like an awkward place to hurt too - is the pain in your butt???

from the split or did it actually affect higher up into the lumbar spine.

Can you describe where the pain is located. Then I can probably tell you what has been injured and suggest a path foreward.

If there is one or more locations where it hiurts - for each

-

try to describe where it hurts and the type of pain (dull, shaprp, or burning)

If the pain is in the legs - where - hip, knees ankles inbetween hip and knees - -and importantly is the pain in the back , front or side ot the locations?

Perhaps you can get this to ease up some - i sure hope so.

hugs, raoul

Yes, the pain is very butt-ular. It's most numbness, on the outside of my leg, mostly at my knee and foot. My dance teacher had the same thing, so I've been getting a lot of tips.

I'm currently pending my MRI results.

okay - you seem to have injured (irritated the sciatic nerve0 located in the lumbar spine.

What you need are anti-inflamatory meds to reduce the inflamation in the lumbar. And you need some sort of muscle relaxer for the adjacent muscles in the lumbar and you need some sort of pain reliever for the break thru pain .

Here are what I would recommend -

anti-inflamatory : take one aleve in the morning.

muscle relaxer: you need to get something from you doctor.

pain relief: take one tylenol in the morning.

you could substitute stretching for the muscle relaxer -

the stretches that might help most are core muscle stretches -

lunge

ham strings

tummy tuck

you can google them such as - "lunge stretch video"

check it out.
