Hi. My name is Deb and my partner Mikey has just been diagnosed with salivary cancer. He had Hodgkins Lymphoma 28 years ago and the radiation is the likely culprit of the new diagnosis. He has poorly differenciated carcinoma in the lymph nodes and spine. Our Chemo starts Friday 12/3/2010. We've been together only 11 months and we only recently began residing together. This whole situation has him reeling and as his caregiver, I end up being the one who has to remain emotionally strong. This is a very scary experience and I was excited to find your site, but discouraged to see that there isn't a lot of activity here. It really feels like we've been dealt a difficult hand. Not only is salivary cancer rather rare, but we are at Stage IV right out of the gate. I want to encourage him in his fight. I'm very scared myself that my role will end up being the person that helps him die in dignity. Sad

I hope there will be someone here to talk to.

Deb
