Hi Mochajava (*love your screen name*),

My Mom did start the Remicaid and a couple of weeks ago she received her third infusion. She saw her rheumy last week and her doctor is not, yet, seeing any major improvements in swelling, etc.

The rheumy did say that she expected my Mom to see some noticable, positive, differences by the fifth treatment.

I'm really keeping my fingers crossed for this med to work...I'll keep you updated!!

Are you taking Remicaid??

Hugs,

Hey there Bkwrm. I'm sure mom might be feeling some frustration. It seemingly takes many weeks for many of these meds to make a noticeable difference. I hope this works for her.

I am not on Remicade. I was just recently diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, although the doctor suspected it when I was diagnosed with Lupus. I was started on Methotrexate this week and am still taking my Plaquenil and Imuran and a host of other meds to deal with other complications. Was your mom on any of these? If so, did they work? Sorry. I know it's a lot to ask.

Warm wishes coming your way.

Hi,

My Mom did take the methotrexate for a while, but she didn't tolerate the med well enough for her rheumy to be able to up the dose. She is still taking Plaquenil. I don't think she had tried Imuran. How does it work?

I hope this med combination works for you. I believe part of the struggle in getting my Mom's RA into remission is the fact that she went so long before receiving a diagnosis. For the longest time all of her symptoms were treated as new manisfestations of the fibro.

Hey there Bkwrm. I've been on Imuroan for about two years now. It worked well combined with the Plaquenil to treat my Lupus and the Lupus Arthritis. However, I am now showing symptoms and test reveal Rheumatoid Arthritis. Those twe meds did not stop that pain or inflammation. I won't say they did not help. I don't even want to imagine what it might have been like if I hadn't been on them already. I'm just about at the end of week one with the Metho and it's beating me up pretty good, but hopefully it will be worth it down the road. My doc says it could take severl months to tell.

How are you doing? I know often everyone is so busy worrying and taking care of those of us who have these illnesses that our love ones don't always get what they need. What do you do to relax and keep your chin up?

Your mom is very blessed to have you in her corner.
