MDJunction to me

liamacker"The part of my recovery plan that I would say made up 80% is MDJ. I suffered a lot prior to finding MDJ, felt alone and had no one to talk to who really understood me. In the Bipolar Group I found like minded individuals who I could relate to and who offered support to me when I needed it. As I recovered, I could then offer support to them which gave me a good feeling about myself. I have met some great people here who I would class as good friends and know I would still be in the slump I was in without them. Now I am stable, I know that MDJ plays an important part in keeping me that way. Thank you MDJ for being there for us all and making us no longer feel alone." (liamacker)

Hi Salli, welcome to our group! You're one of the young ones to have to deal with all this, but you're not alone. There are some others here who are close to you in age, as well as some folks with both RA and Raynaud's Syndrome. It sounds like you are dealing with a lot of back pain on top of the autoimmune stuff. You'll find a lot of warm, caring people here. I'm glad you found us!

Hi Sallison, welcome to the group. It sounds like you have your plate full with your illness, and side effects from the disk herniations. The U.I isn't uncommon in people with serious lower spine issues. I hope your ortho doc is addressing it.

Once your meds start kicking in you should notice a difference in how you feel. The methotrexate (mtx) can take 6-8 weeks or more for you to feel the effects, and sometimes it's so gradual that one day you may say, "gee, my hands don't hurt like they did, and I don't have that bone tired feeling that I did."

Hopefully you'll feel much better very soon. Let us know how you're doing, and feel free to share your experiences, ask questions, or just vent.

Have a wonderful holiday!!

Karen

Welcome! It took a long time for me to admit I needed a support group, but these folks here have been such a blessing to me. I'm an RN so have good access to information if you need a question asked. I don't give advice but I love to hunt up medical info!

You can say whatever you need to and you'll be loved and accepted. RA is not a fun disease, as you've already figured out. But when we carry each other's burdens they don't seem so impossible to handle. Believe me, I've done my share of whining. So take your turn when you need to. It's OK.
