I was just diagnosed on Monday, and I am still shocked! I have so many questions, but don't even know where to start! Any ideas?

Hi Mburgmom and welcome to the group. We're glad you found us. You're beginning the long and sometimes/often difficult journey of RA. Since you're probably still somewhat shocked, the questions may not have hit you yet. Give it some time, and you'll come up with what will seem like millions of them! Wink We will do our best to answer them as best we can, via our experiences.

Please browse through the forums section, and you'll find a lot of useful information on medicines, treatment, opinions, etc... Don't feel that you have to absorb it all at once, because it's a continual learning process.

We look forward to seeing you often!! Wink

Karen

Welcome to the Junction our new Friend. My thoughts and suggestions are to research, diet and do low inpact excersise. Also, keep a open mind and question every test result, and think before placing any potential side effect medicine in Your body, compare living a healthy lifestyle vs living with side effects.

Please read up on all of our forums and ask tons of questions, again welcome Sheppie

Hi Mburgmom, Welcome to the group. Sorry you have reason to join but you're in a lot of good company. We do some venting on here, some rejoicing and a lot of sharing notes. You'll be able to ask about the meds you take and likely find at least one person among us who has taken that and can walk you thru it. Glad you found us!

MBergmom, Welcome.Smile So glad you found this site. You're sure to be happy you joined, as there are so many wonderful and kind people here... to share your thoughts and feelings with. I'm relatively new to RA, and feel blessed to have found such a great group. I'd be lost without it, in fact. I'm still learning about the disease, and am awaiting my 1st appt. with Rheumy. But,I look forward to chatting with you in the future, and wish you all the best on this journey...We're all on it together. Smile Take Care. Barbara

Welcome to our family, it's so nice to meet you Smile

Take a big deep breath, at least you have a dx now. As somebody else said, when you're up to it, do some reading through the old posts. Educate yourself as much as you can and then come back and ask as many questions as you want, that's why we're here.

One thing for sure, you're not alone, we will help you through this and provide strength for you on days that you just feel to weak to do it on your own. Life with RA is not always easy but once you learn your limatations, you will begin to look a life from a whole different view and enjoy things you were not able to before. I know it sounds crazy but trust me, it's true. Please let us know if you need any help with anything at all. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better Smile
