I was diagnosed a year ago and the state I was in at that time was horrible to put it lightly. I am 31 years old and was having to be dressed, help to walk, brush my hair, help with EVERYTHING. I had been given pain killers and became so addicted I ended up putting myself into rehab for 2 months. I was in denial for so long and the fact I was in so much pain I felt there was no other option. After I got clean I was prescribed methotrexate tablets once a week. It took a month for me to see the difference, but now it's working GREAT. The first few weeks were awful with vomiting and headache, but I rarely feel like that anymore. I function normally now and can deal with the occasional flare up. |
