I was diagnosed a year ago and the state I was in at that time was horrible to put it lightly. I am 31 years old and was having to be dressed, help to walk, brush my hair, help with EVERYTHING. I had been given pain killers and became so addicted I ended up putting myself into rehab for 2 months. I was in denial for so long and the fact I was in so much pain I felt there was no other option. After I got clean I was prescribed methotrexate tablets once a week. It took a month for me to see the difference, but now it's working GREAT. The first few weeks were awful with vomiting and headache, but I rarely feel like that anymore. I function normally now and can deal with the occasional flare up.

Glad to hear that the methotrextate is making a big difference. If I may ask, did the Dr who was giving you the pain meds not look for the underlying cause of the pain? I have to agree, the pain that goes along with this is just horrible, as is the losing of our ability to do our day to day things. Rehabbing yourself may have been rough, but they say that over time as the body gets used to the pain pills, they work less and less for the job they're supposed to do. It's wonderful that you are back to functioning normally with only occasional flare ups. I hope that the methotrextate keeps helping you with relieveing your symptoms. May God bless and give you continued success! Hugs from Joy
