Hi all

I am still trying to find out why I get sporadic bleeding from the veins in my left hand?...I have taken pics..shown them to the docs....been to a vein specialist, a hematologist, primary care, rheumy...and had blood work and still no one knows what is causing this...okay, I just went to the pulmonologist for another problem from RA and he looked at my hand and thought I may have vasculitis..I noticed thinking back that this all started after my infusions with Remicade, so was this drug related or just another side effect of having RA?....Right now, I have what looks like small nodules in my small veins on my left hand?....I think I will become an internet doctor...lol...What I can't understand is that after showing the pics..of my condition...the doc would ask?...did you hit your hand?...it was the same question over and over...to which I became frustrated and said...NO....NO...and after that...I would say to the doc before he would ask....is ....

I would like to start this examination with telling you I absolutely did not hit my hand....that is why I am here...to find the cause of this...they all kind of looked perplexed...at this point..I am going to ask some doctor somewhere to take an in depth test on my veins in my left hand....I don't like the little bubbles that are in several places in the small veins...are they nodules?...if not what are they?...

If this is vasculitis, how is it treated?....any information on this would greatly be appreciated..

Just a note: this is not a raised mark that stays on the skin...it is underlying and eventually goes away, only to have another one show up in another spot on my hand. I have actually had it open and bleed....tired of wearing bandages on my left hand..Sad

Cella,

Here's a link to the RA Vasculitis site at Johns Hopkins. There are also some pictures, as you scroll down the page. According to this site...RA Vasculitis only occurs in 1% of people who have RA....it could explain why you've gotten so many "deer-caught-in-the-headlights" looks.
