MDJunction to me

jpcrps"When I found MD Junction, I was in the beginning stages of RSD/CRPS. I was scared, lacked knowledge about the condition, and felt very alone.

MD Junction changed all of that for me. I found friendship and terrific information from people who had first-hand knowledge of this syndrome. It was and still is a big part of my life.

MDJ was my first step on the journey of grief; from denial to acceptance. I am now inspired to help others by sharing this amazing site and sharing my own experiences. I am very impressed that one forum site can provide hope and inspiration to people suffering from so many different conditions. I am proud to be a part of this community.

Since we are one of the first that will allowed to get it, how does everyone feel about getting it? For or against?

I'm hurting so didn't sleep well. I am online most in the morning while I wait for meds to kick in and a.m. pain to lighten up.

I haven't been flu vaccinated in about 10 years. Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on it since my docs started really suggesting them last year.

I'm an Advocate

My family receives the flu vaccine every year, primarily due to my daughter's asthma. However, my mom (due to the RA) and my dad (CHF) also benefit from us being 'covered'.

This year my daughter's doctor is strongly recommending the swine flu vaccine (in addition to reg flu vaccine).

I just asked my rheumy about this on Monday. She said that the regular and the swine flu vaccines are both "dead" viruses, and that people with RA should get them both. What we shouldn't get are "live" vaccines like measles, etc..

So I will probably do it, because I can't afford to get either of those two types of flu.

I didn't get flu shot last year, and my rheumy was NOT happy with me.... nor was my GP....

Interesting question! Get it or not!? Ermm

I get with my husband a flu shot every year and we are very satisfied, having had no cold nor flu since starting these shots.

We intend to get the flu shot this year again too, and I will get the Swine Flu shot definitely too, because as kvnj informed us correctly, only the live viruses will hurt us.

BUT yesterday a friend of mine called and told me that the Swine Flu vaccine has not been approved yet and that the trials have not been completed yet, still, the government will have the most endangered ones of us be vaccinated with this Swin Flu virus!?

Has anyone heard THAT?

Greetings, Forschende

I guess that is why I wondered where you all stood on it. Do we get it just cuz of our low immunities and cuz docs suggest it? I'm on the fence with it and don't know what to do. Are all flu shots made this quick without clinical trials? I've been reading that they are using Squalene in it that has been banned for years and is still banned for the military vaccinations. It is known to cause Guillian Barre and autoimmune diseases. This is what scares me. Why use it now but not allow the military to? Has anybody here done any research on the shot? Then I also read that VitD is essential in fighting off any flu so are those of us that are deficient crazy not to get it? I'm going to keep researching for myself. It's supposed to be available in October.
