MDJunction to me

grandmasylvia"MDJ has been "a soft place to fall" for me as Dr Phil says. I have this very painful rare disease Dercum's Disease and take comfort in finding others here who share their knowledge and compassion. Many
members have helped me just by understanding my anguish and validating
my pain. We are working together to encourage research toward a cure.

IT SEEMS THAT SOME OF US AREN'T BEING TAKEN SERIOUS, ABOUT OUR SYMTOMS. WHEN I TELL MY R/A/PAIN MANAGEMENT DR'S, I'M STILL HAVING TROUBLES MANAGING MY PAIN, ESSPECIALY MY PAIN MANAGMENT DR. YOU WOULD THINK W/DDD, R/A, O/A, SCOLIOSIS, DEPRESSION, NO CARTLIDGE IN MY (L) KNEE, AND THE (R) ONE TOTALY REPLACED IS WORSE THAN BEFORE, PAIN WISE, ALSO FYBRO. WHAT ARE WE TO DO. I HAVE 4 DR'S, THEY SEEM TO THINK IT'S NOT THAT BAD, BUT THE COMBO. DOES MAKE IT THAT BAD. I FINALY GOT MY PAIN DR. TO UP 1 MORE NORCO, FROM 3 A DAY,-4. I HAVE A HARD TIME WITH MY PAIN LEVELS, IT TAKES ALOT TO EVEN EASE IT.

I'M REALY ON EDGE ALL THE TIME. ONE DR. SAYS THAT LYRICA IS A WEIGHT GAINER, AND ANOTHER SAYS NO, IT'S THE AMITRYPTILIN, I'M ALREADY OBESE. HOW DO WE TRUST THEM? OUT OF 4 DR'S, I TRUST 1, HE LISTENS, HE'S MY PRIMARY CARE DR. HE TAKES EVERYTHING SERIOUS. I'M SORRY TO HAVE GONE ON AGAIN. BUT I DO THINK GETTING 2ND OPINIONS MIGHT BE A START. THANK YOU LISTENING, HUGS TO ALL, CONNIE

CONNIE, I WOULD DEFINITELY GO FOR SECOND OPINIONS. EITHER THAT OR THEY ALL NEED TO GET TOGETHER ON A CONFERENCE CALL WITH YOUR PRIMARY CARE DOCTOR WHILE YOU'RE THERE WITH HIM (HER). THEN YOU CAN EXPRESS YOUR CONCERNS TO EVERYONE AT ONCE. THERES NOTHING WORSE THAN NOT BEING TAKEN SERIOUSLY, ESPECIALLY BY DRS THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO UNDERSTAND. BE ASSERTIVE AND TELL THEM THAT THEY WILL LISTEN TO YOUR NEEDS AND CONCERNS, AND IF THAT DOESN'T GET YOU ANYWHERE THEN GO TO OTHER DOCTORS. STAND UP FOR YOURSELF!!!!
