Hi, everyone. I hope your Monday is off to a good start or better than my Monday so far!

I guess this isn't all RAD related, but some of it is.

The first thing that happened today...I wake up, see Boz (the dog in my photo) on the floor and not excited to get up for the day. He starts walking, and is not using his front left paw. Great...I am taking him to the vet at 4:20 this afternoon.

Second thing...I go to leave to talk to HR at work, and my mom's car won't start (I'm parked in front of her in the driveway). Well, my mom drives my car over the grass so I can get out and go see HR at work.

Well, I went to talk to HR at work, and it looks like I will be leaving. I don't have FMLA, but the 3 month mark is approaching and they can't hold my job for much longer. Even if they could, I don't think I could do it. It's a lot of walking, and my feet are not up to par at all. I'm going to the rheumatologist as well as the regular doctor at the free clinic this Wednesday, so I will update them after. I'm definitely going to ask for a referral to see a podiatrist so I can figure out what to do with my feet.

Stupid feet. I LOVE my job, but it's literally 98% walking and being on your feet. They can't accommodate me, because that's the job...being on your feet, walking, etc.

I asked them if there were any other jobs available where I'm not on my feet all the time. Being a nursing home facility, it's hard to come by an office job. Most of the openings are for dietary and nursing staff.

I really hope I can figure out this foot problem. I'm definitely going to be more assertive at the rheumatologist appointment on Wednesday, because I WANT ANSWERS!!!

It's hard not working, because my mother has been generous enough to pay for things. I am getting state assistance for food, so at least I can buy groceries for myself, but I HATE not having money for the little things...gas, toiletries, flea and tick stuff for the dogs. I hate asking for money...

Today I'm very mad about a lot of things, but mostly I'm mad at my RAD. Angry

Well, that's my rant and thank you guys for being here.

I have seen it to,leaving a job because it required standing all day and movement of arms, hands and fingers. Ra does effect our whole life every part. So glad you can trust us to say whats on your mind. I just did that my self on another RA post.I hope the dog is well. We love our fur babies. CLAP

I am a recreation therapy aide. I didn't go to school for rec therapy, so that's why I'm an aide. I miss the residents loads and loads! It's going to be hard to leave, but I will be able to volunteer for an hour or two once or twice a week, I think. Then I don't have to be away from them!

Just got back from the vet. Boz has a rotator cuff injury. So, he has to rest for 6 weeks! No jumping up and down and no running around. They put him on a pain med/anti-inflammatory drug...Maybe not both..one or the other..but it's supposed to help..I'm glad he knows his commands really well. Too bad I have to lift him up and down the two steps to go outside...he's 27 lbs! That'll get old fast, but anything to make him better Smile

My mom has been so helpful. She paid for the vet visit and has been filling up my gas tank so I can go to all my appointments. I'm definitely thankful for her!

Sorry to hear about your dog. How old is BOZ? I had 2 cocker spaniels. One lived to be 11 and the other made it to 15. I had to put a towel under the back legs of my dog to get him into the house he had bad hips. I would raise his legs up with the towel if that makes sense.

I am a HHA/CNA I miss my job I have been there for 16 yrs. I am hoping to get back to work in a few months. You have a fun job and it take the right person to do that.

Im sorry about Boz too... In humans, the rotatory cuff injury needs lots of physical therapy, otherwise you get a "frozen shoulder" and i won't move properly again. You think is the same with dogs?

Hope you and Boz feel better soon. I understand about feet. They have been giving me so much trouble... I have had issues with the achiles tendon and plantar fascitis for more than a year. It is better than in critical time, but still won't go away completely, and comes out bad if i overexert. Stretching the muscles/tendons helps some

Boz will be well taken car of,by the words you write. I like the towel idea. Sheba is 30 lbs and hates to be picked up. Hoping he heals well. CLAP
