MDJunction to me

tomboykimi"What MD Junction means to me is a place where i can feel like im not alone. As someone with something as rare as hydrocephalus, it feels like im the only one in the world with it. When i came to MD, its like everyone has it. It doesnt feel like im alone. And that people need to hold up a sign to say what i have, because people know. And they understand. I can get questions answered from people who have been through it rather than from doctors or people who only can tell you from a physical standpoint. THat is what MD junction means to me." Guess what I did yesterday? We drove 100 miles to eat at one of our fav restaurants, stayed an hour, and drove back 100 miles to home. Us meaning Chuck, Zach, Hannah, and me.

Oh, it was lovely. We live in Middle Tn and drove to Scottsville KY. Gorgeous farms and small towns along the way. Peaceful sights.

Lush trees, fields of wild flowers, acres of soy bens, cattle, horses, goats, quaint homes, big homes, barns as beautiful as many homes, blue skies that would turn grey every now and then and let loose calm showers then turn blue gain. Breathtaking sights.

Converstion for the 2 hours we were in the truck was wonderful. So much laughter.

We rrived at our destintion hungry as a bear(s). I orderdd lightyl dusted, crisp on outside and tender on inside Fried Chicken Livers, dumplings (double order), and onion rings. Chuck orderd Catfish, pinto beans, french fries, and sald. Zach orderd Country Fried Steak (huge size) mashed potatoes/gravy, and mac/chesse. Hannah orderd Sirloin Steak, mac/cheese, fried apples.

We were brought basket upon basket of homemade rolls and cornbread. They were sooo good I had to watch eating them before my plate came. We took home a dozen for milk/bread tonite. Yummy!

For dessert I ordered Coconut Pie. Huge, huge slice. So good.

Needless, to say we took much home but finished it last night. Well, except for Zach. he is 16 and you know 16 year old boys never get full. LOL!

We met some family there and all of us enjoyed food and family being together. I wish I could hve visited at their homes but couldn't. Have to be careful with timing.

The prices at this restaurant are unbelievale. My meal was $5.99, Chuck's and Zach's was $6.99. Dessert was $1.99 and I am telling you the pie slices and food portions are HUGE. And this is not cheaply made foods. All are made with good products, homemade skills, and I am betting with a dash of love.

My grndkids were so sweet to me. They were quiet on the way home while I let my seat back and slept. When Hannah asked me to cut her steak Zach asked me to let him do it just so my hands woulnd't start hurting. Yes, they take care of their Nanny.

I am tired today but not flaring. I am thankful.

My memories are good from our trip because I timed it. I knew if we went to our relatives home after eating i would be pushing and then I would be miserable. I didn't push and am left ith wonderful memories.

Tonite we are having "FRIDAY NIGHT MOVIE/DINNER". I am sooo excited I feel like doing it!!!!

Hugs to all

I am mostly homebound so any trip, especially one like this, feels like Christmas. I could even walk fairly well on my own.

I stared so hard at the beauty of nature while riding the 2 hours up there it filled my heart to overflowing. Riding back I did sleep but that was ok because it was a relaxed sleep not an overfatigued one.

Ohhh...these days are rare but they are deeply felt.

Hugs

As always bits, I was there with you on the trip, in my mind of course. It's so easy to get lost on your stories, probably not good wording there cause I mean, I love your writing. It always takes me with you or leaves me just sitting beside you enjoying all the true blessings that have been given to us. Oh how I wish someday, I could be sitting beside you taking in the scenery.
