Finally saw my Ra dr...and he's stumped with my flares lately...the heavy doses of pred...the daily pred...isn't helping...along with the Ra meds of course...labs are okay.........this past 2 flares of my hands and wrist scared me...almost passed out from the pain...cold, clammy sweat for 45 min...and saw black spots everytime I tried to get up....not a good thing, and the pain was totally unbearable...they're getting worse...more freq...and coming on hard and fast.......so..........sending me to AnnArbor, to see another specialist for a second opinion to find out what the heck is going on...he says it may even be something different..even with the Ra factor sky high...I'm scared but also want a answer to this mess...it's starting to interfer with work now...and that pisses me off..........LOL

He gave me a RX for Dilauid...heavy pain med...which I'm not used to taking at all....but I'll eat one when those darn flares hit like that again..

After all this, forgot to tell him about the new nerve damage going on in left hand, and the rt thigh nerve is almost gone too, but he knows about that one...and....forgot to say anything about the "curly hair" I've seem to developed over the past 6 months...he told me he's never treated someone with my symptoms like this....and he's really stumped...and afraid he is missing something...

It's a good Dr that admits this and sends you to someone else for a second opinion...

Fingers crossed they find out what is going on...but it takes a couple months to get in to this place...so will deal for now.......hugs everyone...

Sorry You are flaring so badly. I know the feeling of the doctor being stumped. I get it all the time. I hope the figure out what is going on with you quickly so that you can get some relief.

I am glad he is sending you to another doc for help. I love a doc that will do this when he is stumped. In my opinion, that means he is really looking out for the patient's welfare.

Good luck dear. I pray you find easement soon.

Debi, I am so sorry that you are going through this escalation of pain and such. I agree that a good doctor does refer you if they aren't sure what's going on. Please don't suffer unnecessarily, do take the dilaudid when you need it. If you wait until you are in agony, it won't work as well.

I'll pray you have relief soon.

I'm so sorry you are suffering so much. I hope it doesn't take too long to see the other doctor. You should ask to be put on a cancellation list and then call there like once a week otherwise, they'll just forget about you.

hugs and extra prayers

Connie
