MDJunction to me

mabri"When I was diagnosed about 18 months ago with fibromyalgia, I didn't know where to turn. I got on my computer and looked for a support group where I could talk to other people with the same disease and get some help...Information, suggestions, mostly just what I can do now that I have this.....disorder/disease/syndrome...I didn't even know what to call it. I found MDJ, and yes, there was a support group for fibro. I started a post, and figured I would never get an answer. However, very quickly I was welcomed in, and became really involved in the group. I received help, support, friendship and the feeling of being truly cared about by these strangers who had become like family to me. Now, I have been here for about a year and a half...I have become a group leader, and love every minute of it. It is so wonderful to be able to help others. I still receive help and answers from the members in this group. The fibromyalgia is where I go to help, support, listen, care and even laugh. I don't know what I would do without this group." Jlacy, we all deal with that really horrible fatigue during flares. As far as I know, there is no help for it except meds to control the flare which will ease the symptons or the flare just subsiding on it's own. Lord, I've been there and all you want to do is sleep and stay awake (due to pain levels) at the same time and sleeping never helps anyway. It was so bad. I wish you peaceful rest but I feel with Ra that may be asking for a miracle.

Please be careful. The levels of fatigue can become bad enough to effect many things including thinking, driving, and normal daily activities. I knew for months I shouldn't have even been behind a wheel just going back and forth to work.

I so sorry that this is rough, but man have I been there. I have a really hard time with staying awake and get the brain fog really bad, especially when I work at 445 a few mornings in a row. I been sleeping a lot lately too, I usually come home after working a six hours shift and sleep for two hours, because I'm so tried I can barely keep my eyes open too. A few things that I've been doing that has helped with my energy level a little (enough to notice). I've being taking vitamin B12 to help with energy and melatonin, it helps you fall asleep faster so you get sleep even with your not feeling to well. I try not to take it everyday but it does help me. You'll be in my prayers.

For me, the hardest part of RA is having overwhelming fatigue and/or flu-like symptoms. I, utterly, despise those RA symptoms.

I asked my rheumy if there was a med to control them and he said yes, but they affect the cardio system. He did not recommend them nor was I interested with side effects like that.

Other than finding the right med combo to treat RA I am at a loss as what to do.

Sleep isn't refreshing, rest isn't refreshing, nothing is refreshing. The reason being we are having an unnatural fatigue, caused from an illness.

y rheumy once asked me what symptom I hated more...pain or fatigue. I was feeling well, that day, and answered which ever one I am experiencing at the moment.

That wasn't quite true. Even though pain can be horrendous, I dohave pain meds that, usually, ease it. But, the fatigue....is there,to stay, till it has run it's course. The pain is awful and at times I am a mess, but the fatigue makes me feel sick. It makes me feel sick because I am sick. Sigh...

Just because I have admitted I am sick does not mean I have given up or have a rotten quality of life. Although, I have accepted RA I continue to fight. Though, my lifestyle has changed, I am very happy...most of the time...LOL!

Prayng for you dear friend.

Gentle hugs

I'm there with you!

The pain is very real - I rate it and treat it with pain meds. The fatigue gets in my head and makes me feel crazy. Many people ask if i am depressed and I begin to wonder if it is in my head too. It's the "I just feel bad" every cotton pickin day that makes it not too believable to my fam and friends....

It's very hard to explain that part of RA. So glad y'all are there.

The fatigue is horrible, I go through phases, I'm either exhausted and can't sleep or exhausted and can't stay awake. I have always had a BVit and Iron deficency and when I was in my 20's and early 30s I took them all the time. Like pepper I started taking a B vitamin after asking my RA doc if it was ok a few weeks ago. It's a BComplex liquid, you squirt it under your tongue and keep it there for 30 seconds then swallow it, it works quick and has helped, especially when I am at work because I get wore out so fast now and you can take it up to 4 times a day.

I am so sick of pills that I started buying all my vitamins either in liquid or chewable form LOL

Best wishes, hope you feel better soon!

Linda
