My neck - left side only - swelled yesterday afternoon to the size of a small water balloon. Nothing wrong and then it was just there that big. Just below the jaw and towards the front. Painful. Mushy. Facial swelling up to cheekbone also. This morning it doesn't look any better and now I can't tilt my head down without alot of pressure and pain. I will leave the doc a msg today with this new sympton to see what he thinks. I have not been sick with anything viral or bacterial and no sore throat. Just a dry itchy cough at night only on and off and then the weird sleep sweats I went thru for a couple months but those stopped about week ago. I took some benedryl last night thinking maybe a food allergy but it didn't help at all.

I just read online that this can be sympton of lupus and RA. Does anybody else get them? I don't ever remember seeing this topic come up here before.

Wow Donna, that's scary! Did you call your doctor? I would do that immediately if you haven't already. The fact that it came on that suddenly would make me run to the doctor!

I hope that it either subsides, or that your doctor is able to determine what it is and do something about it.

You're in our thoughts ..

Donna,

Over the years I've often had swollen lymph glands but I've never had such a big lymph gland. I hope you get in to see a doctor who can tell you if it something to worry about or not.

Good luck and let us know what's going on, ok?

Paulette

The largest my lymph nodes ever got are the size of grapes. Lymph nodes can get infected; so I would definately get that checked out.

I don't know so much if it was the gland that actually got that big. It may just have been all the swelling that made it look so big. My son was shocked when he saw me yesterday morning. It is much better today size wise but still hurts. Doc stopped my AI meds and says to see PCP for it. I'll wait a couple weeks and if it's not gone, make the appt. I hope this isn't another sympton that's going to start happening every couple weeks like everything else.

I'm not feeling great the last week. Lots of headaches, neck pain, and hand/ankle pain. So tired of feeling cold no matter what. Come on Spring and Summer.
