I would call your rheumy. he may very well tell you to split them up, but he also might suggest getting the shots, instead. From what others on here have said, the shots don't give you the same gut side effects.

Hope you are feeling better, soon.

Take care

I am on the shots. I take 0.6 cc once a week. At first I had loss of appetite, some dizziness, and loss of balance. My Rheumy gave me the choice of pills or shots. We chose the shots because it is cheaper and because I have problems remembering to take the pills I am already on. We pay about $15 each month including the syringes. As far as I know my dose is low but it is my first real med for my RA. I have been on it since Aug. 02 of this year. It has helped a bit but I also have Fibromyalgia and I get immune to meds fast. One time I was starting to flare and had my shot and by the next day it had stopped. I hope this helps. If you have any questions about it you are free to ask. Smile

Lisa, I get that baseline neck lump and man oh man is it tender and sore. Makes holding the head up impossible. Rheumy says it's Fibro.

I also agree that the MTX shots are way easier with side effects then the pills. I'm not on either anymore but I have done both. The shots are also easier on your liver.

Hey, Lisa Wink

Get the shots, girl! I got rid of the nausea when I switched away from pills. My rheumy says it is the actual pill in the gut that causes nausea. No pill, no nausea. I still feel "poisoned" and tired for a couple of days but it's not a big deal.

Hmm I have a small, sometimes tender, egg shaped swelling on a muscle on my neck. It's been there since I had a really bad flare in my shoulder and at the same time the joint that connects the clavicle and breastbone. Rheumy said it's nothing to worry about. I wonder if this kind of thing is common with Fibromyalgia? Or RA?

I have had shoulder pain many, many times (either, tendonitis or tendinitis & bursitis). I also have a weird spot on my back that, after my BIL committed suicide, became so hard that a registered massage therapist thought I had some kind of bone growth there. She could not get it the lump go away. I always had muscle spasms most of my live and mostly on or around my neck. We hold lots of stress there.

I can't say wether it is the Fibro or RA.

I have a lot of issues with my neck. One thing that may or may not help is some Icy Hot or a heating pad and Ice pack. Massage may help but it can be extremely painful. If it hurts to hold your head up then you could use a neck pillow or even a towel rolled up.
