and wanted to know if anyone else has this. It's very hard and sore. I don't have a cold or any other type of infection, no fever or any other illness. It's making me kind of nervous cause the pain is also shooting down my neck. Can anyone shed light for me? I'm going to call the doctor tomorrow but I wanted your thoughts on this before I freak out Blink Shocked

Thanks,

hugs,

Connie

Hi Connie.

I wonder if it could be an RA nodule. I would imagine that would cause shooting pain if it's pressing on a nerve. Chances are it is nothing serious, but definitely get it checked out.

Let us know what you find out, ok?

Love,

Paulette

Thanks Paulette, I will let everyone know. I googled it and only one article came up with RA, the rest were either nothing at all to be concerned with or very scary Sad

I usually don't worry about things so much but for some reason this has me concerned. You did make me feel better though, so thanks Smile

It is a good idea to contact your doc and let him figure out what it is. Very possibly, could be a RA nodule.

Doesn't it seem like we have so many things going on with RA? So frustrating trying to decide if it is RA related or another issue.

Always, always talk to doc about any and all concerns.

It's also hard to pick which crap to go running to the docs about. I tend to ignore alot of things until they get so bad I can't stand it and the things which I think might get bad I make the trip to the doc only to find out it's no big deal and goes away in another day or two with no help from the doc except the bill. I think I better quit listening to myself after reading my own post.

Mammy, best to get that lump checked. Hopefully it's just a bone growth. Behind the ear is not uncommon. I have 2 friends with them. Hugs.

Connie, i have lumps behind my ears that come and go. Sometimes painful, sometimes not. I have been to the doctor and they just look at me. Seems to have something to do with lymph nodes.

Go, get it checked. It's probably nothing but its good to make sure.

BTW - lymph nodes like gentle stretching Wink

My mother in law (who doesnt have RA) just had a lump behind her left ear removed. She went to a dermatologist. I get them from time to time. May even be something as simple as an inflamed pimple. I'm not downplaying the RA nodule theory mind you, just pointing out other possibilities. Wink

Thanks guys, as usual, you made me feel alot better. My doc is not in today but the nurse will call me back Sad

I prefer to hear what my own doctor thinks so I'll probably have to wait a day or two. The size of it has gotten a tiny bit smaller but the pain is the same and still shooting down my neck. I'll keep you all posted Smile
