MDJunction to me

carmen33"When I first came to MDJ, I was in a very dark place, and feeling quite alone, I don't know how I found this site, but I have been very grateful ever since, all of you have offered insight to the illness of Bipolar and the other things going on with me, being here has allowed me to find friends, and to feel safe in discussing things that I would never have shared before.

I believe it has also offered me the chance to reach out and help others. A simple Thank you, is all that I have to offer, to this site and to the wonderful people here.

Hi all,

Has any had their doctor add clonodine, baclofen &/or phentolamine to what they are already taking?

If so, side effects? Ho long can you take these (I realize phentolamine is generally used for diagnostics, but I need some relief now & wonder if anyone else's doc is using this therapeutically?

I got through my 4th block & feels like a living he** right now... Better than the last couple of days in general, but that's not saying much.

The muscle jerks, etc. at night especially, but sometime during the day are horrible.

I'm calling my doc tomorrow. I've been trying to hold off, as I realize there are after-effects from surgery, but this is my 4th and has been extremely painful. Day 4 & I'm still in bed. The anesthetics killed the pain, except my shoulders & leg/foot, and right after I felt like I could take on the world. I felt "drunk-like" for a couple of days, but with increasing pain, and now am just in pain. Better than the last 2 days, but around an 8.5 now WITH meds on-board!

I need some rest & relief. I tend to throw up when pain levels are this high - only once earlier today, and I don't have extra weight to loose. I'm starting to feel sick again tonight - didn't have this problem during or even a couple of days after surgery. Food? I think not.

If you've been on, or are now on any of these 3 meds, PLEASE PM me! Let me know how it's going for you! Side effects?

Thanks!

Hi WaterRabbit,

I just got off of baclofen.

It was given to me for 6 weeks as medication therapy so my rhumitologist could get medicaid to pay for my MRI's and EMG's.

I got drowsy on it and slept pretty well, now that I'm off the baclofen I'm having problems sleeping.

I would definately speak to your DR. asap if you are in that much pain!

Hope you get the relief you need very soon!

James
