Wow, this site has a group for everything!

I was just browsing the groups and noticed this one. I believe that I suffer from RLS, I first noticed symptoms when I was pregnant. My youngest child is now 8, and I have been experiencing the symptoms on and off over the years. Sometimes months will go by with nothing, and other times there are many nights in a row that I feel if I could hack my leg off (and sometimes,my arms will bother me even more), I would just to settle down to sleep. Sadly, I self medicate. I have found that a few glasses of wine before bed not only relaxes my mind, but my arms and legs too. Every once in a while, I will take a muscle relaxer(that I have bummed off a friend).

Just curious as to what triggers the pains, does stress have anything to do with it? And what do others do for relief, especially if it creeps up on you at night, and you need instant relief. I havent yet seen a doc for it, but I think I might make an appointment soon.

the appt with a doctor will help. one thing that my mom and i both do is take a b complex vitamin. that is what my doctor recommended to me and it helps me o ut. unfortantly i havnt found any "instant" relief for it. but taking the vitamins daily helps bring the sensations down to a low level.

mirapex has worked well for me. 8 yr suffer

a new genaric version of requipt is out now so i hope to get on that soon.i havent tryed requipt yet ,its supposed to be the same as mirapex.the cost is the big issue.

anyway mirapex stopped the jerking, tingling, crawly feelings at night and also stopped the constant rocking legs during the day.i also find it easier to walk long distantances.the legs arent so tired.
