Three of the basic tests that will indicate the health of your liver are the Alkaline Phosphate, ALT and the AST. Keep in mind that the numbers for all three tests indicate problems if they are out of the normal range. Normal ranges are: Alkaline Phosphate 37-117,

ALT 36< and AST 10-40. I was concerned in mid March about my liver health and numbers because I had been taking many different drugs to fight the pain. On 3/21/08 my doctor ordered all three tests and my numbers were: Alkaline Phosphate 675, ALT 125 and the AST was 165. These numbers were high enough to scare me to death. I was advised by a trusted family member to get some Grape Seed Extract and Milk Thistle, and that would not only flust our the liver, but keep it healthy.

My doctor again ordered the tests on 4/04/08. I added 1000mg of Milk Thistle and 50mg of Grape Seed Extract to my daily regimine of pills (3 times a day) and look at the numbers on 4/4/08: Alkaline Phosphate 220, ALT 22 and AST 20. I take a daily multi vitamin amd 1200mg of Flaxseed Oil and have for some time. I was totally amazed at the results a week and a half later and the only thing I did different was add the Milk Thistle and Grapeseed Extract. You can buy both over the counter at any drugstore or Wallmart etc. Be sure that the bottle has "USP" on it to insure quality, purity and potency. I would also recommend that you discuss this with your doctor before taking them (most doctors are in the dark when it comes to alternative medicines). You have to do your own homework because you know more about RSD than he or she does. If you take regular blood tests, be sure your doctor includes these three tests, after all, everything that you swallow goes to your liver for processing. You can look on the internet to get a good description of the tests and what your numbers may indicate. I hope this will help some of you good folks feel better. My sincerest best to all. Dano
