Hello all. My name is Tammy. I am a stay at home Mom/calligrapher/artist. My RSD affects my daily living. It's in my left leg and left arm and my left eye now twitches when I am in a flare up. Does anyone else have those issues of it moving into your face? My face doesn't hurt like my arm and leg, but my eye twitching is driving me insane at times.

I take Lyrica (which helps me the most - if I miss a dose of this, I really notice it) and oxycodone and vicodin for filler as needed.

Would love to hear more about you folks and what you do to combat this dragon.

peace & blessings,

Tammy

Hi Tammy, my rsd in in my right ankle and foot. I never had any problem with my eyes as of yet. I can imagine how miserable that must be. Is there any time of the day that it is worse than usual? Best wishes,Dano

Hi Tammy,

Welcome to the forum. Like Dano, mine is in the lower half of my body. I went to your blog and read that that is where yours started. I see it didn't take long to progress to your arm and face! I'm sure the twitching is driving you crazy, wish I knew what to tell you about that. Maybe Google to see if you can find a herbal remedy or something?

I also take Lyrica and can't imagine life without it now. It is the only thing that helps the shooting, sharp pains. Along with that I take Topamax, use Lidoderm patches, and have hydrocodone for breakthrough pain.

What really concerns me about this condition is how it spreads. My pain started in my right ankle. It has spread mostly after having spinal injections...2 nerve blocks and 1 epidural. Now the pain is in most of my foot and up my right leg. I also get the shooting pains in my low back sometimes. I can usually tolerate walking (I need a cane and wheelchair with flare-ups) without shoes. I can't walk at all WITH shoes.

My pain doc wants to do a spinal stimulator, but I figure if I can't handle shots, I definitely can't handle implants. I'll probably be looking for a new pain doc soon.

I've started soaking in Epsom salts and that helps a bit - I think it's the Magnesium. I haven't tried any alternative therapies yet. My husband wants me to do accupuncture, but I'm unsure about it.
