HI all.....

first time with this group....

My name is Craig... I was diagnosed with RSD, back in 1999 from a dog bite... who would have thought a little dog bite could cause this... I now have a couple or other things going on.... but the RSD is still the number one on the hit list... I am now told that what I have is called stage 4, RSD. It is everywhere... I hurt everywhere.. I have had all the blocks and all the pain meds any one person could stand.. I am now in very deep withdrawals from the

Fentanyl patch, and suckers... Also you will have to know that I really don't spell well. I have been to over 30 Dr. since the first diagnoses and everyone says the same thing full blown RSD. Went to Mayo and they said RSD,Fibro, and Chronic Pain Syndrome.

Just for a few....

Right now.... life ... does not seem really all the worth it........ between the pain, withdrawal and everything........... I have to question the quality of life at this time......

I have seen Dr Kirpatricks on his web page and TV, please.... give me a break.. he is not interested in us,,, the patients... he is only interested in himself... that is my feelings..... I have tried to get in to see him, but he will do nothing for me since I have already had the blocks... His only interest is getting donation for his foundation... that is just my feelings..... but they would not even answer a simple question on his new "Coma" therapy they are so proud of..

He heads a foundation that see no one, talks to no one, and treats no one.... hmmmmmmmmmm

Sorry for the editorial..........

I have RSD and I am begging for help......

Please since 1999,,, Please...... someone....

thanks all

Craig

Hi Craig,

Sorry to hear you're in so much pain. I also have RSD, Fibro & chronic pain syndrome. Its a great combination isnt it!? lol

I was diagnosed 2002 with the RSD, got sent to see a pain specialist, he sent me for all the blocks & gave me more medication than i care to remember. In the end he sent me on a pain management course in a London hospital, i stayed there for 4 weeks. They taught us meditation techniques, exercises that wouldnt hurt too bad, sorted out the depression & got me off all the pills. Before i went there i was a mess, it was definately a godsend! With the exercises they gave us a small amount of really easy things like nodding your head & told us to do them for 10 mins if we could, if not then for as long as we felt comfortable. Next time we had to try & do 2 extra, then2 more after that etc.. Eventually i had about 7 different exercises to do & was doing them for 5 - 18 mins each. I was never able to do them before, it was brilliant.

The meditation techniques were real helpful too. I used to get stressed when out shopping, all those ignorant people pushing past me...i actually used to shout after them lol After the course i used to stop & do the 'elephant technique' as they called it. It sounds daft but it does help, you have to breath in for 3 elephants, hold for 1 elephant & breath out for 2 elephants. Does that make sense? Try it, it really helps. Other than meditation & light exercises i dont know what to say to help you, sorry.

Hi Craig,

I have had RSD for as long as you, but luckily I found help. Where do you live? Im going to give you a little info that I have in hopes it might help. Go to a website called Medtronics. Now it will list all kinds of medical things such as the intrathecal pump or pain pump as I call it. They also have a phone number you can call to find a doctor who specializes in using these pumps for pain management. I have one of these pain pumps and it has literally saved my life. It does pump drugs into your body, but you don't get all the nasty side effects from taking the pills. It goes directly to the sorce of pain and will hopefully give you some of your life back. I hope this helps! Good luck! Michelle

Hi I just had my #6 nerve block. No relief. Dr. said she will see me tue. I know she will want to discuss further options, but my nerves are shot, literally. I wont give up but I wish I could take a break. I broke my ankle at work and then diagnosed with rsd one month later, changeing my life totally. I dont know how people can live like this for years, I guess I will find out. No choice, no cure. Sorry, just started this seven months ago, still bitter. need support. blessings to all

Hi craig I just want to say how sorry I am that you are dealing with this. I have been dealing with rsd for 9 yrs and it sucks so bad I cant do alot of things that i used to be able to do and it is a very big damper on my life. I am 28 yrs old and I am too young for this. But it happens!!! It originally started while I was playing college football and had a bad injury. I have seen doctor after doctor. so i know what you are going through. I have had many blocks and they just made my condition worse. I also just got done with a spinal cord stimulator and it ended up getting infected and they had to pull it out. It will work on alot of people it just didnt work for me , so now i am just taking pain meds. I just dont want to be on them for the rest of my life. well if figured maybe we could talk more and keep in touch. my next step that they want to do it cut my nerve but I am very iffy on it so please help me out if you have any ideas i can give to my doc. thanks and I HOPE TO HERE FROM YOU SOON! thanks again

Michael

Hello Im very sorry you were dignosed with stage 4 RSD, I didnt know it went fullbody. I have it in one foot and had 6 blocks with no help. The Doc stopped them on me and is trying different meds until she can at least take the edge off. You are so young. and a whole life ahead of you.

Im 49 and I think this is dreadfull. my sleeping patterns run crazy with the pain. thats why im up now, never slept. im lucky on one thing, I broke my ankle at work so workmans comp.takes care of all these bills. We just barely make it with my little checks to pay for groceries. I also had to hire an attorney, wat a screwed up, depressive mess this has heen. Prayers are sent your way. God Bless, patty
