Jkb. I would really love for your PMD to explain that one to me......I am sitting with my family doctor right now, and she just told me how wrong that is.... And why that is so bad for a persons body.......

My pain doctor and I have never discussed pot and I've never asked because I've never tried it and it isn't legal here, so I wouldn't. But, alcohol is part of my contract to avoid, so I guess I thought it was a more common contractual point with others. My contract went from a simple, one-page contract to a new 3-page contract at the beginning of this year when the laws supposedly really cracked down on pain doctors. The environment feels so negative and even hostile, but I think in this state it is common now. That was why I wanted to give the alert, because I wouldn't have neccesarily thought of the alcohol causing a problem until I read my newest pain contract. When my appointments begin it is 100% about me having my bottles of pills with me with a count done by me and then again by the tech, as to exactly how many pills I have left. Approximately 75% of my 4-5 minutes is "business" regarding what RX's I need for the next month. More often than not, unless I ask a question, that is the extent of my monthly appointment. It's not just negative, it's a very defeated atmosphere and I'm sure part of the reason I feel stuck. But, the rest of you, go ahead and enjoy your Nyquil! lol

Thank you for the info on the yogurt, Barb. We will get some. Pot vs alcohol-- I have nothing on that as I haven't even ever tried a cigarette in my life let alone pot. One's illegal by law while the other isn't-- a real catch 22, plus if I were arrested for possession, I don't think the school board would appreciated that charge. Before CRPS, pain meds were foreign to me, and I am so strict with them, and I only take Percocets as needed which I have realized is a far cry as a standard in comparison to what some of you need to alleviate pain and have some comfort in your day to day life. I got 120 pills back on 06/12, and I have 77 left, but I have had a ketamine treatment (1 45 min session) in between. They do not induce sleep though. If anything, 2 Klonopin work the best.

Craig, He won't prescribe pot because he says it is not a proven pain reliever for my condition (whatever). As for alcohol consumption, we are talking one glass of wine a night so nothing crazy.

Hi this is not the thread to discuss pot or alcohol

So I will start one ... This subject should stop here, and continue for not being able to sleep.

Went to the PMD on Monday, he gave a script to help with the insomnia. I must be having opposite effects....this really sucks!!! No sleep just makes everything so much worse!

My neurologist has me taking amitriptyline now. I was taking 25 mg. on the in-between as per my pain doc, now she has given me 10 days of a booster 10 mg pill, then afterwards I bump up to 50 mg. nightly. She said I have to watch for "seretonin syndrome" (sp?) since I take Trazadone as well. She was going to put me on Nortriptyline, but said that Amitriptyline is stronger and since I was regulated to it, she kept me on it. I didn't sleep that well last night, but I have slept all day as I read that we should sleep when we can. I followed my body's lead, so hopefully I can get on the night shift sometime this week.
