Hello all,

Well i'm home after having my 5 day kettamine infusion and it has been very interesting to say the least. I had no real side effects other than being very tired and groggy and as for the pain in my left foot/leg it has eased a little to the point that i can actually now touch the top of my left foot.I have not touched it in over 6 months and i are able to have my foot under the water when showering. I now have to have a cam walker on to get around and have been told i will more than likley have this for a long time but its a small price to pay for the relief. I go back to pain doc on the 29th to get a 4 hour top up infusion and to get my assesment done for a 10 week program, they also played around with all my meds so i now have more to take but these are working a little as well.

My pain doc told me the kettamine should continue to work so i will keep you updated on that and how its going, until my next post take care and may this treatment be available to all very soon.

Jody

Jpdy, I'm so happy you have some relief of pain. I know you were hoping for remission but there may be chances for that in the future with new meds or treatment, maybe even with changes in the Ketamine treatment.I love that you seem to be happy with the pain relief yoo have from the treatment you just had. The more positive and hopeful I am the better any treatment is for me so I know attitude can have an influence.

I'm trying to get back into a walker part-time from 5 years in a wheelchair so I understand the effort you are making to get back on your feet. It sure takes more energy to use my hands/arms to walk than it took when my feet were all it took. BIG SIGH. I hate this disease. (as I say at least monthly.) I hate it for me but I hate it as much for you and everyone else whose lives have been disrupted and who fight the pain and other changesthat have changed our dreams and messed up our lives.

Sending a hug and prayers that the pain relief will increase with each day.

Jody,

I'm glad you are having some relief, as we all know that every bit we get is great. Thanks for letting us know and do keep us informed. It sounds like you have a good doctor who is truly interested in getting you better, and that's great to have. I hope with continued infusions as boosters that your relief will continue and even get better.

I sure wish you the best with how it continues to go!

Congrats on finding something that is working, even it is only a little bit (for now!). Please do keep us informed on your next infusion because I'm so interested to know how things go. I sure hope this becomes more effective, available, and affordable for all of us in the near future!
