Is it strange that my toes are so cold that they hurt? I have been on 90 mg of Procardia for little over a year now. Some days my toes are mine and other days neither my fingers or toes feel as they are mine. It kind of feels like an alien invasion.

I teach school, and my students get a real kick out of watching my hands turn red, white, and blue. We stop, come to attention, and salute. I try to find a lesson and humor in every situation.

No, it is not unusual with your toe thing. Sounds like you are making the best of your red-white-blue and your students saluting you. I thought that was very sweet actually and you are using your own situation to education your students (there are a LOT of UNeducated people out there)! Take care...ever cold, Snowball

On the alien toe thing, I have a question.

I was diagnosed with Raynaud's about 10 years ago and have had the numb, purple, red, etc stuff off n on all this time.

BUT as of last thursday my big toe has been numb and stayed that way. You know that feeling you get when the Doc puts novacain on your gums and you can feel your cheek but can't? Thats my big toe.

Its not discolored like it has lost blood for days, but is painfully numb ( if that makes sense).

Any ideas?

My Rhuematologist can not see me til the 23rd... should I wait? Its not discolored ... thoughts?

thanks

MaMaCass,

The 23rd is a long time to wait in my opinion, especially considering that it is numb yet painful. I understand that feeling all too well. I would recommend you try to get an appointment with your primary physician - let him take a look at it in the interim. It could be something very minor. In your circumstance, I would air on the side of caution. Circulation is a major factor for those of us dealing with Raynaud's.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Keep me posted and keep those toes cozy and warm.

MaMaCass--yes, I agree with Mochajava--probably best to get it checked out by the doc. I don't know about toes but I also have that carpal tunnel thing in both my wrists and sometimes a finger will get numb and stay numb for awhile but I just figured it was related to the nerve damage or something (but, I confess, I didn't bother to see a doc as the feeling eventually usually comes back okay). When I have wrist/fingerflare-ups, I have to sleep in braces at night for awhile and then I seem to be okay for awhile. Has something unusual happened to your toe lately? Ever cold--Snowball
