MDJunction to me

Sylvia4648"I have suffered from depression most of my life, but had some long, non-depressed times. The last 16 years have been an on-going, constantly worsening nightmare for me medically, socially and with my family. 11/2008 to the present has been the worst time in my life, and new things just keep piling up. During that time I’ve gone from being mostly homebound to being totally homebound due to the errors of about 2 dozen doctors who overmedicated me so badly that I came home w/ 4 conditions I didn’t go in with. I spent months wanting to die, and finding MDJ may well have saved my life. It’s one of the worst feelings to know that nobody on earth needs you for anything; but now that I’ve been a group leader for awhile, there are people here who need me. Thanks MDJ." (Sylvia4648)

It was only a couple of weeks ago that it was in the 90's here. Today, its down in the 60's and I can't seem to keep warm!

I had to take a shower increasing the heat of the water until my body went from Smurfy Blue to Lobster Pink. Lol. The cold is wrecking my body. Pain increases and numbness in my hands and feet!

I suppose this is my Welcome to Raynauds Phenomenon! And Just a few days ago, my hands and feet were bright red indicating I was overheated in the store!

Go Figure. At first, I thought it was kinda cool to be able to tell my body temperature. Now its kinda like "hmmm not as cool as I once thought" Back then, I wasn't as symptomatic as I am now either. Oh Joy!!

Thank you all for letting me vent!

Huggs

Hi Sonni! Boy, can I ever relate lol. We had a few days where it was up into the upper 70's to low 80's. It felt pretty darned good! Then at night it'd drop down again and I'd be wearing double socks and my hand warming gloves to bed just to keep those fingers and toes comfortable enough to sleep. The past few days has been back down in the 60's, and I'm back to wearing winter type attire lol. Anymore I wear layered stuff so I can add, or remove, as necessary thoughout the day. I don't know about you, but I can even get a chill on an 80 degree day if there's a breeze. This stuff is sure hard to get used to isn't it?! Wishing you a warm summer Wink Hugs, Joy

Hi Joy! What a lovely name!

I've been offline for a few days, so pardon me if I've already welcomed you to the group! Its so nice to find someone going through what you are so you don't feel...well... like a doofus! I can't speak for everyone, but I feel like a doofus running around in my winter pants, or wearing knit gloves to keep my fingers from freezing off or looking like I've got frostbite in the summertime!

Sheesh!

Hoping you have a warm summer too, hoping it doesnt get so hot you can fry an egg on the pavement...

Hugs

Sonni

I'm still wearing driving gloves to grocery shop and it's in the 80's and 90's outside. Tried going without them and by the time I get to the register they are so painfully numb i can't even feel the money. Unreal. Looks real sexy with shorts and tank. LOL.

Went to FLA last week and the only time I triggered and it wasn't bad was in the air. Want to move there. Another winter in michigan is going to kill me.

Had friends on my porch the other day and it's hot out but we were in the shade and I was barefoot. One asked what was wrong with my feet and why are they purple/ Doesn't take much.

It has only been in the 60's here the last 3 days and I am triggering painfully like crazy. It's July for Pete's sake. Wasn't winter enough? I hate this. All it does is remind me winter is coming back and I am going to be suicidal if i have to suffer another one like last year. I had to do some grocery and med shopping yesterday and even gloves didn't help just like winter. I so want to move to florida. I would have been wearing a ski cap if I wouldn't have looked like a total crazy person. The gloves in July are bad enough to make people stare.

I'm so scared of winter! I am just recently diagnosed with Raynaud's, and Im really noticing the extreme pain in my feet and toes. My hands are starting to do it too more.....Im on the Nitroglycerin ointment, but that only helps a little. Started Norvasc. 2.5 mg and so far, nothing yet. But, I have a feeling the rapid onset of the symptoms, have to do with what they are testing me for ......I hope you are having a good day, and Hey, Gloves are cool! I am thinking of crocheting some cool lookin ones lol

Hi LS, and welcome. My first bad winter with raynauds was last year. I had to smile at the crocheted gloves. They won't do any good as it gets colder. I bought heated gloves last year and even added the heat packs to them and they did absolutely no good outside. Still triggered within minutes. Stayed swelled and in pain 24/7 thru all of last winter even in the house. Still triggering thru summer, especially mornings and anytime after swimming but atleast it's not as painful as winter. More annoying then anything. They say alot of us will only get real bad episodes for a few years. i pray that is all of us.

Summer heat usually turns my hands bright red as if I've been doing dishes in super hot water.

Now, when I get close to the air conditioner blowing cool air from vents, my hands and feet turn bright blue as if I were getting frost bite! I think by the time I have my body acclimated for summer, winter will be here! Whistling

Never thought I'd have my hands inside a heating pad in summer before! Is this just me, or is this happening to others too? Ermm

Hi Sonni, sorry you are struggling with Raynauds. Have you been thru a winter with it yet? This is my first summer with it and I really hoped it would go away but it hasn't. Being in cold stores is the pits. I'm still using the electric blanket, gloves, and wrist splints in July and August. Hot water bothers me. Anything cold is out of the question. Can't hardly wait for winter. ughhhhhh......
