I think that few know that Viagra was initially intended for PAH.

What fewer know (and, I must admit, I don't) is whether it's still used in PAH or not.

And, if so, how about the... err... side effects?

It's now calles revatio and yes it's still used for PAH. The side effects are redness, runny bms, senitivty to sun lights, head aches, nasuea. when I take mine I have to lay down in a dark quiet room for about 30 mintues. Seems to help, all but the redness on my skin. I'm sure with flolan which has the same side effects the redness is caused by both.

Thanks, Tsharp! I didn't know if it still used for its initial purpose.

But how come the well-known blue pill doesn't give the same side-effects (if you had to lie down in a dark room after taking it, nobody would use it anymore...)?

What other medication are you on, besides Revation? Are you taking Flolan as well?

I'm sure each person's side effects are diff. I only know of 1 other person who has the same as myself. My aunt who takes Revatio doesn't have any side effects.

As for the other medicines I take Flolan, blood thinner and as needed lasix and/or aldactone. Flolan & Revatio & the blood thinner are my PH meds. All my others are as needed or for female hormone replacement.

the ventavis is every 3 hours of holding the little machine inhaler to your mouth and sitting there for like 15 min while doin the meds its liquid and you have to put the meds in the inhaler by yourself it comes in lil viles. there is alot of droolin in this med. I had to quit taking it due to it was causeing numbness in my face and arm. it did not work for me.

I know 2 people that are using ventavis and they both use oxygen full time. Do you?

What kind of dumbness; like just face where you can't feel or where you don't have facial expressions?

Aren't Viagra (Revatio) and Ventavis two different things?
