Hello,

I experienced several pulmonary embolii about a year and a half ago. In fact, the largest of them caused an infarction in the lower lobe of my right lung. I was on the coumadin regimine for six months. I was on birth control, but they never could determine what other factors caused this to happen. They said that I had over thirty blood clots in my lungs. They scanned my legs to see if they originated there, and determined that they did not. They thought maybe they had started in my pelvis. It is very frustrating to me that they were never able to determine what it is that caused the clots. They said that I did not test positive for APS,or FVL. However, I had a miscarriage a little while ago (they had me on the lovenox shots just in case), and when I miscarried my numbers were comparable to someone who had NOT been on lovenox the entire time. Should I be concerend? I find myself feeling nervous anytime I have an unusual pain in my chest or when I breathe. Am I just paranoid?

I know what you mean about worry. Every time I have a pain that isn't "right" I put the phone next to the bed at night wondering if I'll have to phone 911. I have my medical bracelet on in case of I'm in an accident and I can't tell them I'm on blood thinners. I'm afraid to get a massage in case it dislodges a clot that hasn't dissipated yet, and I won't do any cardio workout yet, for the same reason. Everything scares the crud out of me. They can't seem to pin point any reason for me either, they blame the YAZ birth control I was on. My husband and I are going to see a hematologist (top in his field) at the UW medical center here in Seattle. That is in a few weeks and we can't wait to get clearer answers to our questions.Unsure

Thanks for your insight, Bree! I have been off of the blood thinners for almost a year now, so I am SUPER paranoid a lot of the time. Please let me know what they determine for you. It may be able to help me!!

I will keep everyone apprised of anything new just in case it helps one of you. It's awful that so many of us have experienced this, but it IS nice that we have other people to share our thoughts, worries and accomplishments. Hope you all have a wonderful New Year of health and happiness! And just so you know, I'm STILL having wierd pains in my chest....talk to the Doc about it on Friday.
