Hi everyone

My name is Tracie and the reason I have joined this group is for my 3 year old sweet baby boy. His psoriasis started only 2 months after he was born! I myself have it but only on my head and neck so I have nothing to complain about. I took him to the doctor when he started with the spot on his head and they said it was craddle cap. Then when it spread to his entire body, it was dry skin. Then by the time he was 2 it was so bad he looked as if he had lepresy and people would look at him as if he were contagous and would look disgusted and point at him! It was so sad and believe me I would always say something. His Derm told me, no, promised me it was not psoriasis, that it was very rare for a child to be born with it and would out grow it. Well, for about 6 months after he turned 2 it did. Now, it is back full force!! His whole head is giant open sores and bleed so bad. His back, arms, butt, you name it is covered in it. Now the doctor has dx it with psoriasis! So, I have joined the group on his behalf to hopefully get some advice from others on ways to help him and natural things to use beside strong steroids to help relieve the pain.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this!

warmest regards,

Tracie ( and Ivan!)

Tracie ,

Hi, Welcome to the group. I know its hard dealing with the confusion of what to deal with psorasis when you are a adult it must be horrible trying to find solutions for a small child.Have you checked pout the National Psoriasis foundation . (link below) They have a section dealing with youth. You can order free booklets and it has a parent to parent section. It also has a camp for kids with psoriasis.

I hope this helps

Tracie, I am so sorry! I wouldn't even begin to know how they can treat children as young as yours, but mpmom is right. Psoriasis.org is a great site and they have all the up to date stuff.

Please let us know how it's going with your son. My hear goes out to both of you!
