My dad has just been diagnosed... Not even sure if this is a malignant tumour or not.

I was wondering if there's any way to make this better or even make it go away without getting under the knife...

Does anybody know more? Does acupuncture help in this case?

Scared... Don't really know much right now.

Thanks.

Hello, Helena. Prostate adenoma is rarely malignant. It's a very common disorder of the elderly, virtually everybody has it after 65-70 .

Don't be too worried, and make sure your father gets frequent check-ups and follows closely his treatment scheme. The nonsurgical approach is rather of management than cure, bear that in mind. Don't know how acupuncture would help (it can't back up the tumour, can it?), but it can't hurt, either.

Prostate adenoma can evolve into cancer, so if I were you, I would insist my dad gets surgery.

Best of luck, and keep us posted!
