Welcome, you sound like you have confidence in your doctor and that he is working for you in a prompt manner. Nevertheless I would suggest you do a lot of study yourself, if possible, on the internet. Certainly prostate cancer is one disease where the patient makes the big decisions and is advised to learn on his own. I didn't know anything at all till I was diagnosed about 10 months ago. It was quite hard for me to get engaged at first due to the emotional load. I hope you have family support and wish you well of course. If you want to share details and talk in more depth please feel free to do so.

I had surgery but the post surgical results pointed toward the need for followup radiation. I had that too. I feel great and my chances of being cured are good, but not certain. Your treatment choice will be influenced by your PSA and by the Gleason score of your initial biopsy. Still there will be options which you should investigate. I also suggest you pay close attention to eating healthfully. As far as the worrying, I can strongly relate to that. Openness with friends and/or family can be a big help. I hope you don't keep it all inside.

yes, this sounds very optimistic to me. The 6 on aggressive is fine, mine was 7. The 5.8 psa is good too. Probability of a complete cure is very high. No need to rush into action. You have caught this early. Surgery is the most likely suggested treatment, but your doc will probably tell you of other alternatives too. I think you should let go of some of that worry and appreciate that you caught this in a timely manner.
