Hi there,

My daughter just turned 8. She was diagnosed with CPP at six and started Lupron just before her seventh birthday. Almost immediately, her breast development sped up, and although the doctors said that some increase was normal at first, her breast development just continued to accelerate. After six months of treatment, we stopped the medication, as the doctor admitted that my daughter was "A little different" in her response to the medication.

Unfortunately, off the medication, some of her other symptoms have continued and her puberty was proceeding, so the doctor (now a different one), has restarted the Lupron. She has just received her second injection, and again, her breast are developing, almost right before my eyes.

She is starting grade two in a couple of weeks, and I am afraid I will have to buy her a bra. I am very worried about the teasing and social difficulties that she will face.

Has anyone else had this experience with Lupron?

Hi Mater, I am sorry to hear the side effects of this drug. my daughter just turned 7 and is about to go on the Lupron or Supprelin implant. I do not want her on it but understand of the horrible side effects of precocious puberty as well (stunted growth, psychological and social issues etc...) I wish you and your daughter the best with this.

Any advice or opinion of what you may have done different would be apprecitated thank you in advance

Just an FYI - my daughter just turned 8 and is experiencing CPP, but CPP is a consequence of a pituitary tumor!! They found a Gonadotropin Secreting Pituitary Adenoma - which basically is secreting FSH and LH and causing her to have CPP.

Be very through with your doctors and ask to get an MRI if her hormone levels are higher than normal. (IMHO)

Thank you, Mater, for posting this. My daughter is in second grade and diagnosed with CPP (although the endocrinologist isn't completely sure). She's had 3 monthly injections of Lupron 7.5 mg. Her breasts are increasing markedly. Did you find out what was going on in your child's situation? I'm calling the endocrinologist on Monday, but was wondering if this is to be expected after a few injections. Please advise, anyone!
