My last therapist helped so much. She told me to write a letter......well let me fill ya in a bit...From the time I can remember, until I was 18, I was physically and sexually molested by my parents. (any wonder for the BPD, PTSD, and OCD?... LOL) I have more hate than any one I know. (& I still do) for 58 years I have hated. My therapist said 2 words to me...."That's OK!" I guess I needed someone to validate my feelings. She had me write a personal letter to each of my parents, saying everything I ever wanted to say to them....WOW what a wonderful feeling I got doing that. However, now I regret not sending them to the bastards before they died. I will always hate them & I will never forgive. But it's way way back there in the old noggin & I can live with it. My everyday anger......CUSS LIKE A SAILOR!!!!! LOLOL

Love

Gloria

No problem, that's what grandma's are for!!! But shadow, I am not an authority on much of anything, really. I give people my experience and often harsh words. That's all I have to give, so I readily share. Just never take my words as gospel. Opinions are just like as- ho--s, everybody has one!! lol Thank you for your kindness to me.

Love

Hello All,

Thank you so much for your advice! I am finding that this is a hard thing to deal with.

geekGirl - I love painting and anything art related. My therapist has suggested that I paint my feelings, or draw, or whatever. However, I have a hard time using this medium to vent my anger. I have never used my art in a negative way. I'm also curious about wilderness therapy. I may PM you to find out more. I also write in a journal. This has helped some.

Morning: Thank you for your thoughts also. It really does help when someone validates our feelings and lets us know they are ok. My therapist has been very good about that. Some time ago I actually flipped out on my dad. This happened in the middle of my mom's slow death from cancer. I guess I just couldn't take the stress anymore. I was actually glad I said a few things to him that I normally would not. I just needed to stand up to him. I don't know if it was the right thing to do, but it was for me at the time. I can definitely understand your anger gloria. I am sorry you were so hurt as a child. Thank you for sharing with me.

Lots of Love to All of You!!

Hi Red,

Don't hesitate to PM me. I think alternative therapies hold some level of value, and this gives everyone some sort of option. I used art therapy to get through my accident and the complications from that. Basically, there are a couple ways you can use art therapy in regard to anger management. The first is to paint when you feel angry. The best paintings I have done were when I was highly emotional. The other way art therapy is beneficial is to use it as a sort of daily practice to meditate on or a time to get away from everything, and this is your time to just express all the feelings you have and turn them into whatever you want. I could talk about this forever, so I will leave it at that. Definitely PM about the wilderness therapy, or anything else.
