Welcome, bay28. Glad you found us I hope you find some answers, some comfort, and some friends. My shrink has given me both diagnoses too. However on my last visit he said he was leaning more toward PTSD. He also told me that both are treated with the same drugs, so it really doesn't matter which it is. lol You're not alone so never feel that way again. You live with it, the same way you would live wwithout it, bay. You be the best you can be and try your damndest to be good to yourself by taking your meds and talking to your therapist about all your problrms. We will be here for any other questions you need to ask.

Welcome Bay28!

I'm with you I love morningglory's looks!!!! Can't wait to see the next one. I'm glad you found us. There are a lot of wonderful people here with a lot of experience. I hope you will feel comfortable just joining right in. I'm struggling with several fun conditions....PTSD being one of them. Finding a good therapist has really helped. I'm going through some work with her right now that has been really hard....but, I am determined to keep fighting. I have seen that working with my therapist is making a difference....and that gives me the encouragement to keep going. I have had many more good days now.

Again, welcome to the group!!

Red

Thank you Red for reminding me that I haven't even really told bay anything. I love ya, Red.

Gloria

Bay, I am 58 and have been struggling for years with bipolar, PTSD, and OCD. Red is right about the therapist. The meds alone for me were just a bandaid to keep my disorders in place. A therapist helps you take these mental disorders, and make it like an onion. lol (sounds funny I know). They help you take that onion and start peeling it. You will be crying cause it burns your eyes like crazy. You will keep peeling the layers off that stinky little sucker until you can only just barely see it and can stick it in the fridge.(your brain) way way back in the back and almost totally forget it. It's there, but so little it will no longer make you cry and you will hardly ever take it out anymore....lol. Please do get a therapist....they can make a huge difference.

Love,

Gloria

Hey morningglory,

You are difinitely right about that onion!!! We are peeling my layers now and it hurts like H@#@!! I built up so many layers trying to keep out everything!! My therapist has also talked about peeling the layers away like an onion. I hate spending all day and night crying and feeling like there is nothing left of me....but afterwards, I can see the light again. You always make me feel better morning... You just seem to give me confidence that things will be alright. Thank you! By the way -- love the new look!!!

Well Bay, hope you won't feel nervous about posting. We all just jump right in! Red

Welcome Dawn, I hope we can be of help to you. You'll find that lots of us are on all the same boards. Seems to me all the childhood abuse stuff manifests itself that way.

Gloria, my therapist just last week used the onion analogy. Thought of you immediately. I too look forward to your new look, you brighten the boards
