I feel so broken today that I can hardly stand up. How do you keep going? I try to be strong and "make myself" get through the day. I am tired of it. I am tired of everything. I went to the T yesterday and thought it was a fairly good session and now this. What the F--k is wrong with me. I am so crazy. What is this mood swing? One minute fairly good the next

Crazy????? Why....I hate me and I don't want to be strong and keep going sometimes. I am so tired of it.

Does anyone else feel this way. I know it is not easy when you have PTSD but why does it have to be this hard?

catcrazy. This might seem a little strange but have you ever have your thyroid checked by your GP. Low thyroid will give you bad mood swings and will make you feel very tierd. Sometime all you do is cry and sometimes make you say things to people that you don't really mean. It's hard to explain bu it's a good place to start.

Scott

Hi Scott. It doesn't sound strange at all and I appreciate you suggesting that. I actually have an apt with a new dr today that my T recommended. I will ask him about that.

I am thinking about you and you are in my prayers. I know what a hard time it is for you right now. It will get better with time.....

Catcrazy: I agree with Scott; it might be a good idea to get your thyroid checked. Also, a new thing that has come in to the medical field is a lack of Vitamin D in the body that can make people so tired. Also, anemia can cause it too. Another thing that can cause fatigue is depression that goes along with the PTSD. Be honest with this new doctor and tell him everything. This may sound strange too about the Vitamin D, anemia, and PTSD, but it is true. Also, some medications can cause fatigue. I work in a doctor's office as a transcriptionist and these are some things I have learned by typing the reports. Midget53
Although I work in a medical office as a transcriptionist, I am not a doctor. My advice to you is based on my own experience with PTSD and what I have found out about it by researching it as much as possible. Always remember that if you need a friend to talk to, I'm just a PM away.

Hi Midget53 and deputywife. I am a little better today but nervous about going to the Dr.

I really am sick of dr's.....I guess no one really likes to go. Midget, I am deficient in vit D and B12 so I know that is part of the fatigue along with the fibromyalgia. I will try to be open with the dr. but that is very hard for me to do. I am especially like that with men so I will see how it goes. I am very nervous and anxious right now. Wish it was over.....I hope you all have good days....Hugs to all!

Catcrazy: Hope everything goes well for you with the doctor. I work for a doctor's office and it would amaze you at some of the things people do. I've seen people who didn't take their medications or try to keep their medical conditions under control. The doctors always indicate non-compliance on what they are guilty of not doing. More than 1 patient has had a stroke, developed other health problems on top of those they weren't taking care of, etc. I hope you soon get to feeling better and please be sure and let us know how it goes with the doctor. Midget, I work for dr's also and have for years so I know what you are talking about.

Well, I went and he was in a rush and didn't really go into anything with me about past medical conditions and asked what my reason was for coming. He is putting the couple things in the computer that I was saying. I wasn't even started and he said ok lets go in the exam room and get your blood pressure. He went out and got the MA and she took it. He then came back in and listened to my breathing looked at my throat and said we are going to do an ekg and get blood test on you. That was about the extent of it. He asked me what meds I am on and they called them in. Whatever....I thought my old Dr was not efficient and thorough enough...Wow. That really surprised me especially since my T wanted me to go to him. The dr said he was really swamped because he was covering for another dr. I don't care. He still should have found out more about my health and problems but he didn't have the time. I didn't even get a new patient sheet to fill out when I got there. Oh well, I will go and get the blood tests next week and see if anything turns up. He did say that it would check the thyroid etc.

I hope you are doing ok.

Catcrazy: The doctors that I work for sometimes cover for each other also. No matter how busy they are by covering for another doctor, they always take the time to listen to each and every one of the pt's or their family and treat them with the respect they so well deserve. We have 1 pediatrician and internal medicine certified MD, and 2 family practice doctors who are certified to read the DEXA or bone scans that are so popular now for osteoporosis, certified in geriactics, nursing home administrators, and are also involved in the training of medical students from 3 different colleges. We also have 1 of the very few certified lipidologists in the United States and boy can he tell you all about cholesterol and all that jazz. I have been a patient of one of those doctors for 8 yrs and I have never had a problem with him. The night I found my husband dead a friend of mine from work came up to my house to be with me. She was on Ativan at that time and actually called the doctor at home that night and told him she was worried about me because my blood pressure was so high it was making me stagger and my face was very red. He knew how bad my blood pressure is and told her that if she had her Ativan with her to go ahead and give me one to calm me down or take me to the hospital to the ER and he would meet us there and take care of giving me a tranquilizer. When I saw him the next time in FU, he held my hands and had prayer with me. These doctors take time for their patients and that is probably why they are so popular. You got a bum deal from that physician. Midget53
