MDJunction to me

Hazeldee"MDJunction means that I no longer have to feel like I am the only person in
the world with pericarditis. It means that I can talk to others who know
how stressful and how painful having pericarditis can be. It means that I
connect with others to discuss treatments that have or haven't worked for us, so that we have a leg to stand on. I think that having my friends at
MDJunction has allowed me to better mentally and emotionally process my
diagnosis and what it means to me. I feel so lucky to have this community
available to me. I use MDJunction as a way to use my experience to help
others. Reaching out to help others is the only solace I have found since
being diagnosed with pericarditis.

You know my fear of the dark? Well, three times this week I forgot to plug my lamp back in before it got dark (unplug it when it gets light in the morning) and I was able to walk across my room IN THE DARK and plug it back in, without crying! (with repeating "there is nothing to fear but fear itself though) But I consider this a victory, even if it is a mini one Smile So I wanted to share it Smile

Irish, Congrats on your victory. I sometimes have fears of the dark but I just try an not to think so I either read or do word puzzles. Like you above mention "there is nothing to fear but fear".

Again Congrats of your victory.

Congrats on a huge step foward from the fear in the dark, and now only see the light. No fear.

It's weird though.....like i'm so anxious, and my breathing starts getting funny. I just hope I get to the place someday where I can truly be rid of my fear of the dark. I think a lot of that fear was the truly early stages of my PTSD...in the dark you can't see things coming, in the dark you never know what will happen. Just feel like I can't keep myself safe when i'm in the dark, and I freak out bad.
