Hi All - it's been a while since I have posted here. I am years post my abortion and I tend not to think of it often. This time of year and when I get close to my edd (expected due date) I get a little sappy. My youngest daughter just had her 4th birthday party on Sat and I couldn't help think that if I would have carried Emilee to term my Allysa wouldn't be here. I know for sure she wouldn't be here. We induced (aborted) due to poor prenatal diagnosis when I was 26 wks. I have never doubted we did the right thing for our family. Emilee was very sick and I couldn't put my daughter through the paint that she had waiting for her. I look at my family now and wonder what life I would have if we did not decide to terminate. Her life expectancy was 3 yrs old if we were lucky. It has been 5 1/2 yrs. I feel very fotunate that we were able to spare our daughter a short life of pain. I think of Dr. Tiller who was my families rock through all of this. He gave his life for a woman's right to choose. I am so sorry his family had experience such a horrible loss but the result is my baby girl Allysa who is my world. Sorry for the sappy post. |
