1magicman"Before i found MDJ i was in the deepest darkest part of my life after my abduction. I wanted to feel safe. I wanted that sense of being a normal person.Finding MDJ and the people with in it has steered me down the correct path into the light of hope. The feeling of hope that i was not alone, the feeling of hope of understanding, and the feeling of hope to move on. I never give up hope." (1magicman)

This is actually something I want you all to do. We all have rights as basic human beings. Now, as adults, we have the power to establish our rights, what we won't allow and what we will allow. And we have the right to stick to that. So, what's your code, your rights?

Irish Angel- Fantastic post!!

Huge heartfelt thanks!

Here are some of bat girl's Survivor Code of Ethics

Have the right to be a wounded warrior.

Have the right to be kooky- have my own style as a bat girl.

Have the right to keep away or keep my distance from negativity vampires.

Have the right to keep any negative family members at a distance.

Have the right to refuse invites to places/dinner parties/special events if it will jeopardise my health/make me more health challenged( cannot always be there for friends or family when they want me to be there due to my various challenges plus the fibro).

Have the right to pamper self from time to time- without feeling guilty for treating self to something lovely.

Have the right to express an opinion even if am in minority as long as am respectful to self plus others.

Have the right to time away from here- breaks, holidays or rest for short periods- without feeling guilty.

Will sign out now- loquacious/talkative bat girl

!

Excellent post Irish Angel.

Giant gentle hugs, love your friend Claritaxooxooxoox

I never thought of the issue of boundaries as a code of ethics. But I like that. And am thinking about it seriously.

I have the right to cut off toxic people from my life, without a feeling of shame or guilt, even if it is family. This was when I first realized that I was and am a Fibrowarrior

I have the right to not answer my door, or phone just because I choose not to.

I have the right to support people that I care for in any manner that I can.

Even though I am a GL I am first and foremost a FibroWarrior, and have the right to remember this and be a warrior when I need to and a GL when I can.

(I bring this up because I tend to try and hide my feelings in an attempt to support the other fibrowarriors, and therefore not request support, mea culpa but I need to remember it, )

I can should and must be honest at least with myself about how I really feel.

I have the right, and indeed must let the child in me out to play!

I have the right to feel good about my activities, even if that means accepting that somedays there are no activites.

I have the duty to recognize the goodness in my man, and the right to understand and accept that how he shows love is by doing, so let him do!!!

I have the right to enjoy being pampered by the selfsame gentleman. And I have the right to pamper myself.

I have the right to be honest, to my doctors, to my husband, to my friends and to myself. In fact, if I want to obtain any sense of well being I have the duty to be honest.

I have the right to not spend the day on MDJunction, co-equally I have the right to spend the whole day on MDJ.

I have the right to love whom I will, but the duty to be fair and considerate and kind to all.

Thank you, Irish Angel. It was a good solidifying exercise.

Natalia

I have the right to be loved and to love others,

I have the right to say no to things that I do not want to do,

I have the right to be respected

I have the right to admit to my feelings and to share them with others who love me

I have the right to take time out from here so can heal properly as in one mighty fibro flare right now- need to rest much right now as body is very bruised plus in high pains!

Am away from Devon whilst hubby is working many many many miles away in London- parents have been taking care of me yet as from today milko( mum in law kindness only) is taking over the baton until hubby returns. Both houses are not as warm as ours in Devon so sitting at a desk as a block of ice whilst typing is not a good idea for my delicate health.

If am not around here much until return to Devon then you will understand why am not around as need to be own best friend for a little while. Extra tough whilst being away from home as well as from hubby Chris- takes all my might to hold on tightly. Missing my best friend massively!!

This group is in safe plus very good hands anyway whilst take a mini vacation from here- for Natalia and John Co Leaders with me- your GL's will take excellent care of you all as well as the group, truly!!

Hope many more will post their Survivor Code Of Ethics here, too!

Take excellent care of yourselves plus each other. (i) Angels plus earth angels sublimely bless you(i)with loving kindness, random acts of kindness, serendipitous moments, Eureka moments, comfort, healing, easing up of pains, courage, guidance plus an abundance of humour/humor medicine- may all this be fabulously so for you each- may it be so!

Giant gentle hugs to you all, love Clarita

To go shopping or do any activity that keeps me out for more than few minutes I have to use my wheel chair. Most stores are not accessible, and I see the looks on peoples faces and the voices of the people and the children that learn from example so:

I HAVE THE RIGHT TO EXIST. (sorry for screaming)

My money is as good as anyone else's, I should have the right to spend it where I want.

I have the right to receive the respect that I give.

I have the right to set my own limits as to how much I can do.

John
