I've Managed To keep ahold of a decent sense of humor despite stacking Heath challenges and stacking medical regimes. I hope this board isn't for this trying to live med free, because i am retrying what comfort meds might

bring me.

I welcome learning positive thought, meditation, and positive Thinking as important helpers.

Ii look forward to reading the posts and threads.

That you for having me.

Penelope

Very warm welcome to you Penelope, fellow fibromite, awesome to have you here Smile!

This is a down to earth caring support group. Most of us here take meds for some condition or another- even this bat girl takes quite a few different meds for pain killing. So nobody will recommend to you to come off any meds- no worries about that.

You have come to the right place to learn all that you say you seek, for certain!!

Feel sure you will find many friends, too!

Make your fine self feel at home, okay.

Gentle hugs, love from this British fibromite batgirl Clarita SmileSilly

welcome y

Hi Penelope,

I have never seen anyone in my time on this forum recommend or suggest that someone stops taking medications. We are not Dr's and, as such, nobody would suggest you did something that could cause a medical problem for you.

What you will find is suggestions of how to think more positive, how to try and take the bad things from life and focus on the good, to have a positive mind and you realise that one day, things will be much better than today.

I also don't mean this in a patronising way but if you are planning on meeting people from the Internetz, please be careful. Sometimes, people can seem really friendly and open and honest, but turn out not quite how you think.

Thanks Manxbaily,

I was very sleep deprived when I wrote that. I really would like to expand my social circle, but you are completely right.

Maybe I can edit that post.

Thank you for the words of caution.

Imreally don't know what to say. I am usually very cautious Blush

(edit)

There. All better Smile

Aw, that is fine Smile I have done the same, and have met some really nice people after being on this website - I am a group leader on another forum, and have been on for over 2 years now. It's an amazing site - you make friends, you get the chance to talk about any issue or concern you have, and you also get to share good things too - it's unique.

You can make lots of new friends, my only point was in relation to meeting people outside, in the world at large Smile Just be careful, that's all Smile We want everyone to be safe, and sometimes, people can sound amazingly nice and genuine reading their words on a screen - but remember, it's only when you're face to face, you actually know who's typing. So, if you do meet, go somewhere public, town or city centre, middle of a huge mall, anywhere that you're in a mass of people. Just to be safe. Or take a friend with you, if you want to be double sure.

Just looking out for you Smile Some people can sound really mature but someone who says they are 26 could be 15 Smile And vice versa Smile

Bailey, Thanks for your sound advice- wise words indeed!! This batgirl has had her fingers burned here too- met up with a fellow fibromite(also from Devon) whom whilst still am fond of her plus keep her often in my prayers could not stay friends with her as she was far too much of a negativity vampire(could not keep being her life unpaid life coach)- my caring hubby helped me to see this friendship was not a healthy one so waved it goodbye. Now am super careful as to whom let know have details(can count on one hand)plus no one in the UK knows my address from here either. Am super careful to who have in my inner circle of friends these days.

Bailey- You are top notch!

Yes, be careful Penelope Smile.

Maybe you could join something in your area- where you could maybe make friends with someone- someone you see face to face(first of all, in first place, then get to know)?

Gentle hugs to you Penelope and to you Bailey, warmest wishes Clara Smile

Aw sorry to hear that Batgirl, it's really hard to judge someone online sometimes, because there are some who are good at covering their true personality. It's almost like they have two lives, a real life and an online life, only the good things show online but in person, they can be quite different.

It's always awkward giving advice like this online, as you don't want to come across as patronising or condescending, I know most members here are older and wiser, and it wasn't meant to sound patronising. Just wanting to make sure people are safe, that's all Smile xx
