What is SG and GL? I get lost in all the abbrev.I am new to this group and I hope you will accept me to the fold. You all seem like a great group of people. in fact I am new to this web site and in the short time I have been visiting I have found nothing but kind and caring people who have reached out to a lonely abused individual dealing with a great deal of pain. I was about to give up but my father died when I was 12years old. My mother didn't do the greatest job, but she raised four of us ( even though she kept crying she wanted to die and be with dad) all on her own. I keep plugging on for her. She is way up there in years, but she is the only person that tries to help me. I couldn't check out on her. Thank you Clarita. btd2371 Dizzy

Welcome, welcome, welcome! You are far from alone here. While each of us struggles with our own issues, you will find that there are many common threads.... among them there are friends and family who don't always support, there are pain issues with so many of us, there are serious health concerns - etc.! But - the one common thread you will find is that we support each other and look for the sun even when it is raining. And, if it is pouring rain, then we surround you and hold umbrellas for you. And perhaps you will do the same for some of us. I am sorry you deal with such very difficult issues, indeed they are serious and sound incredible painful and difficult. Please stay here and see what you will find with this wonderful group of folks.

Hugs,

Leigha

btd2371, Very warm welcome to You Smile! Fantastic to see you here!! See that our wonderful Leigha has welcomed you here(she is top notch)- echo her beautiful words to You too!!

SG = support group

GL = Group Leader

The GL's here are myself Clarita, Natalia, John, Ann and Karen- we are here to welcome new members, to offer our support, our help to the best of our abilities, be an advocate for others, keep members safe, to ensure there is no spamming or bickering, to add new posts plus articles on the topics that cover positive thinking and self esteem, to have some fun posts here as well as the more serious ones, to ensure everyone has a voice plus is equally represented and to keep this as a dynamic caring group as possible.

Agree with Leigha, this support group here is about finding the silver lining no matter what our health challenges may be or how challenging our pasts may have been. We are like a family here- diverse yet loving, we all look out for one another.

Heart goes out to you massively for all you have had to endure in your life- all those living nightmares, bless your soul, plus all the challenges you currently face. Yet, urge you to lean on us all- including us GL's.We can try to help you so you can heal, grow as well as be like a phoenix rising from the ashes, for sure.

Stick around here.

Take excellent care of You.

Gentle welcoming hugs, love ClaritaSilly Smile

I would also like to welcome you. My name is Sue and I have COPD which gives me lots and lots of self esteem issues. Here, I can come and read so many great articles that Clarita provides and take it with me to my COPD Group.

You will enjoy being here, believe me.

Sue

Btw, Hello, and a big warm welcome to the group. Smile I will keep this short, as the other simply great members have greeted you so fully. Will just say, I am fairly new here myself, and am the newest GL but have so much to learn and a far ways to go.

I also had quite a traumatic childhood and early adulthood. Many here have too, and now also are living with chronic conditions or serious medical problems. But here we can lift each other up when we falter, and celebrate when we make progress, which is often in baby steps. But celebrate those we do. Smile

There are the PM (personal Message) and Chat features too, if you ever need to talk one on one. Don't hesitate to use them any time.

I know you will love this group and the love and caring it's members have for each other, and will for you too, I can promise that!

Welcoming gentle hugs, Karen
