I just joined. Saw several folks from my other groups here and am enjoying the stories. Looking forward to meeting new friends too! I can never hear too much on positive thoughts.........self esteem, mine has its' issues. I get tired of it having control over what I do or don't do. (I just read the poison parrot discussion and I can hear the parrot warming up its' voice as I type this! Quick get the squirt bottle!!) Anyway, nice to meet you all and hope to know you better soon!
Take very good care of you!!! You deserve it!!!

Hi Katie, Welcome to the group. If the squirt bottle doesn't keep the parrot quiet I find duct tape works well.

Katie, welcome to the group!

I think we represent the full spectrum here from desperately needing better self-esteem to being able to love ourselves and others! I consider myself to have pretty good self-esteem, but then I catch myself (or my husband or a friend catches me) running myself down when I feel like I did something "stupid". (A word I've been working to get out of my vocabulary.) What I've usually done is to provide myself with a learning opportunity, so mistakes are a good thing, right?

One big thing I am learning is not to be afraid of failing, because it doesn't make you a failure at all! It's just a road sign that says "TRY AGAIN" or "TRY SOMETHING ELSE". Very useful in "practicing being human."

Well, this has gotten kind of long for a "hello", so I'll just say, "I'm very glad you're here!"

Blessings, Jeni
