I don't get the abdomenal pains but it is not uncommon for people with this disease to have them. Pains can also happen when you ovulate. I would still tell your doctor about them becuase it can be a sign of something going on with the cysts on your ovaries. Don't let anything go unchecked if it concerns you.

My dd Becca had the abdominal pains very bad... in fact, she started having the abdominal pains, and after several doctor's visits, they ordered a sonogram and they found she had a tumor in her bladder that was totally unrelated to the abdominal pains. It ended up being cancer, and she was only 16....

After she healed from her surgery, she was still having the abdominal pain and that is when we were finally referred to an Gynecologist and then she referred us to the Endocrinologist who diagnosed her with PCOS.

It wasn't until Becca lost quite a bit of weight and was on Metformin that the abdominal pain finally went away.

By the way, she just had an appointment with her urological oncologist and her bladder remains cancer free! Woo Hoo!!!

Bev

Sounds like you may also be dealing with Endometriosis - this can only be picked up in a laporascopy. I would look into having this done along with the ovarian drilling option as this can get rid of any scar tissue found, endometriosis, cysts if you have them (30% of all PCOS women do not have cyst issues) and built upof androgens produced by the ovaries and any cysts you may have.

I have put together a PCOS Kit if you are interested. It will answer pretty much all of your questions, at least thats how I made it - to answer questions I have heard over the years. It will also have information on courses of treatment and understanding what our bodies need. Email me and I will send the document to you. pcosinct@yahoo.com

Hi Kathy,

I used to get horrendous abdominal pains. I have PCOS & Endometriosis. I agree with pcosinct it does sound like endometriosis, best off getting yourself checked out.

Oh & Bev, Im so happy for you & your daughter

{{{gentle hugs}}} Emma
