I have been doing some reading up on how wheat/gluten affects insulin resistance (and therefore pcos!). I strongly recommend the book "Wheat belly" by Dr. William Davis. I did not realise that 90% of modern wheat is GM and has never been tested for human safety.

I also recommend any other paleo diet resources.

I have removed wheat from my diet completely AND I have lost 10 pounds since Easter. I have more energy than ever and my skin and other symptoms are MUCH better. My husband has commented on how many compliments I have received lately.

It takes a few weeks to really kick in and IT IS NOT EASY TO FOLLOW! Wheat is in EVERYTHING...but for me, it has been life changing.

I hope that you might find some success with this diet.

I'm an Advocate

Hello Claire, I actually have researched the Paleo diet for a month or so now. It does look pretty confusing but for me it doesn't take much to confuse me..lol I would like to try it though and am going to as soon as I can get the food items I need to do it. I'm so glad it is working for you! Congrats on the weight loss. I will check out the book on Amazon to see how much it is too. Thanks for the info!

Glad to help. Just to update, I've lost over 11lbs so far and, considering that I am also taking steroid medication, that is an amazing achievement!

I highly recommend it!

Still on paleo diet (gluten and lactose free)and have lost nearly 20 pounds. Menstruation has returned...naturally!

I don't know if it will help others but the paleo diet worked for me because it balanced my sugar levels.

Insulite labs was very expensive but I really found their pcos vitamins helped a lot.

Don't give up!
