Hi my name is Vanessa, I have been trying to concieve for almost 4 years now. I got diagonised with PCOS in 2008, before then the doctors just put me on bc for my irregular periods. I have been to four doctors in the past three years and they all just want ot put me on bc, I don't understand this. my husband and i really want to be parents. I am only 23 and the doctor said that it is way too early to be thinking about abdoption, but he cant tell me why I am hurting all the time, he just says that it is normal for women with PCOS. My back hurts along with my lower stomach and abdomen,it gets so bad that I cant move, I had an ultra sound done a few weeks ago and there were no cysts. But he is for sure that I have PCOS, my symptoms seen to go on forever. The doctor put me on provera again and Im hurting just like last time, he mentioned clomid, but I am a little sceptical since I hurt all the time anyways. Can anyone relate, if so I would really enjoy talking to you.

Does it hurt intensely all the time or just right around the time of your period? I have the same symptoms but only when I get my period. The doctor told me I have dysmenorrhea..which is just excessive pain during your period. I was given some pain medication but it doesn't really help too much.

It took me 5 years to get pregnant and we almost tried Clomid. Typically they will have you start taking Metformin (if you aren't already) then do the Clomid in conjunction with it since that gives a woman with PCOS a greater chance of conceiving. The biggest advice I can give is to be patient and try not to think about it all the time. Which I know is much easier said then done. My husband and I gave up, got a puppy and then I got pregnant. lol Good luck and hopefully your doctor can have you stop the BC and find something else to manage the pain with.
