Hello, my name is Auntmimi6888 and I am the group leader for PCOS. Welcome. As far as a diet goes, I am with uyou in the motivation department. I find that when I stay away from sugar, I ccan lose weight. It's just that I can't get motivated to stay away from it!!! I don't know if thhis is true of all of us, but I have Hyperinsulinemia. Too much insulin in my body. When we eat sweets or breads or anything wiht sugar or startch then out bodies put out more insulin to combat the extra. It's a vicious circle. Anyway, do you want to try that? Let me know how youn are doing. I am interested in you and care about you.

I was just recently diagnosed a few days ago with this, however he has to run a few more test before they put me on any type of medications. My Dr. said that I needed to start dieting and exercising, however I just don't have any time at all! I work full time and go to school full time. Also I do cook for my husband and I, do any of you have any suggestions on things I can cook that my husband will like too? Also any exercising tips would be great!

I have a great jambalya recipie that is ok for us to eat. First you cook 2 cups of brown rice in chicken broth, inside the broth you put Cajun seasoning. For the chicken I get a roasted chicken from the store and break it down at home, I also use andoui sausage. The amounts are up to you. You will also need to chop up green bell pepper, onion, garlic, celery. 1 can of rotelle green chilies and tomatos, red pepper flakes, a bay leaf, and more Cajun seasoning. While the rice is cooking chop all the veggies and garlic. In a deep pan brown the sausage (drain out all extra oils in the pan) then add all the rest of the ingredients and stir. Have the heat on low and add the rice stir together and put the lid on the pan. Let it sit on low for an hour or more.

Also if you are eating a carb like bread or crackers (that are whole wheat) make sure you have a protien with it. There are plently of whole wheat options in the grocery stores now so it shouldn't be too hard to adjust. When you look at the lables make sure the only have 4g of sugar or less per serving and that the flour is unbleached unenriched whole wheat flour. My favorite snack is making chips from whole wheat pita, u bake them in the oven with some olive oil and eat them with hummus. Just watch for sugar content and make sure they are truly whole wheat. If you want more recipies or need more help don't hesitate to ask!
