MDJunction to me

Claire138"It's been a year since I joined the Parkinson's Disease Support Group on MDJunction and all I can say is thank you all for the support, compassion and friendship I've received and been able to give as well. It was a lonely night when I came upon this site, but the nights aren't that lonely anymore...
With gratitude to all...

Hello all my name is Amy Jill I do not have this disease but through my website (Amy Jill's Fibrochicks and Roosters) I have a dear member who does. Her name is Jackie and she lives in Capetown, South Africa. She is such a joy and wonderful person that I had started a website to try and bring her to the U.S. for kidney transplant. There is so much needed to be done to do this and alot $$$$ also so we are just taking it one step at a time. For the longest time she did her own dialysis forgive me if I spell these things wrong. Still trying to learn about this disease. We were even going too try and donate but due to our many illnesses we found out we cannot. From doing her own dialysis I believe its called Peridialysis she would get many infections the last one leaving a hole in her lung and they were going to do surgery but decided to risky besides being very painful. So I am happy to say she is now on hemodialysis and is doing so much better. She actually went dancing New Years Eve. She was finally just put on the donor list but you had to be at 5% kidney function to go on and now she is. I am going to mention this group to her and hope she joins as I feel she could use this kind of support from others as well. If you like to check out her website that I started for her here is the link, all we ask is for support and information on this disease

http://www.joyforjackie.com thank you and I do hope you get to meet her.
