Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with pityriasis rosea a little over a month ago and am now symptom free! I wanted to share my success story to help you get rid of this horrible virus ASAP. My rash first started out as a million tiny little bumps...which of course, soon grew into a million itchy, crusty sores all over my body – even up my neck and down my arms and legs, which occurs only in rare cases. I felt hideous and cried many, many times, wondering how I was going to deal with this rash for another day, let alone another 2-3 MONTHS! Anyway, based on my miserable, but short-lived experience, I HIGHLY recommend you do the following: 1. GO TANNING!!! My doctor suggested I lay out in the sun to get some relief from the (eventually) severe itching. Since I obviously wasn't about to head to the pool covered in red scaly sores, I got a tanning package instead. Though I'm no fan of fake baking, I HIGHLY recommend it for pityriasis rosea sufferers. It helped with the itching, and after about two weeks of tanning for 5-10 minutes per day, my rash was practically gone!!! 2. Don’t bother with expensive prescriptions...the over the counter anti-itch creams work just as well. 3. Avoid exercise and doing anything sweaty. 4. Don’t cross your arms or legs, as the pressure and heat will cause the rash to spread and can exacerbate existing sores. 5. Take lukewarm showers and/or baths. 6. Get pH balanced soap so you're not irritating the rash in the shower. I recommend Miracle Soap (www.miraclesoap.com). The first ingredient is “prayer”...and God knows with pityriasis rosea, you need plenty of those! 7. Don’t despair. Unfortunately, the rash will get worse before it gets better. And even if you start to see relief on one part of your body, the rash may show up in another spot It just takes a while for the virus to work its way out of your system. Anyway, hope this helps!! I feel for anybody suffering with this virus. Hope you all get well soon |
