I was diagnosed with pityriasis lichenoides when I was twelve. I felt a bit self-conscious, but had a good group of friends so I wasn't as unhappy as I could have been. At first, it covered almost my whole body. The summer that I was diagnosed I went on a trip to DC, and I think the sun exposure that I received for a few days at a time really helped, because that week it cleared up a lot. My condition reached a sort of equilibrium after that for a few years, but slowly started to go away when I was in my early twenties. I still have a few spots here and there, but take heart! For those of you who have had it for several years, it MAY go away to a large degree. |
