MDJunction to me

jpcrps"When I found MD Junction, I was in the beginning stages of RSD/CRPS. I was scared, lacked knowledge about the condition, and felt very alone.

MD Junction changed all of that for me. I found friendship and terrific information from people who had first-hand knowledge of this syndrome. It was and still is a big part of my life.

MDJ was my first step on the journey of grief; from denial to acceptance. I am now inspired to help others by sharing this amazing site and sharing my own experiences. I am very impressed that one forum site can provide hope and inspiration to people suffering from so many different conditions. I am proud to be a part of this community.

Hi All,

I am new to this group. On April 17, 2012, I was diagnosed with a Macroadenoma. It's approximately 3cm high and 2.5cm wide. It has affected my vision to where my right peripheral vision is totally blurred and my left is nearly there. The doctor said that it was caught early, but judging by the size I think it is late especially that I can hardly read now. I have surgery scheduled on May 18th and Dr. Costa Hadjipanayis at Emory Medical will be removing the tumor. After reading different forums, I'm really scared about my vision getting worse after the surgery. Read a few stories that people having this surgery had more vision loss than before. I know someone went totally blind and had memory loss for a year.

A question for people who already had the surgery. Did your vision get worse or did it get better? I am a 34 yer old male and in fairly good shape. I have 3 year old who has a mild condition of arthrogryposis in her legs, and I'm hoping that I can see her after my surgery and insuring I'm there to take care of her.

THanks Everyone.

Hi There,

Your tumor is about the same size of mine. And after surgery I gained full vision back. There is a great deal of hope that you will, too. In fact, that is one of the reasons that I had the surgery, to keep my vision. I told myself it was so that someday in the future I would be able to see my grandbabies. Not only do I have perfect vision now, I also recovered full use of my pituitary and all of my hormones. It is amazing what they can do with this surgery, You will do wonderful. I used a meditation CD that I listened to help me envision the surgery going better than anyone could ever want and being surrounded by all of those who love me. And I visualized myself after the surgery doing all the things I love to do. Try it, it may help you! I will hold a picture in my mind of you holding your 3 year old and looking into each other's eyes with love.

Keep us posted!

Terry

Thanks for the reply. It's good to hear that you got your vision back. Gives me better hope. If you don't mind me asking. How long did it take to regain your vision? Did you vision appear worse after the surgery and then gradually got better?

Hi Qtviet2000

Like Terry, my vision also improved right away, after surgery. The drive home was amazing!! I could see my sister in the drivers seat, while I was looking straight ahead.
