I am an occupational therapy grad student working on a project that would provide home help for individuals with permanent disabilities. I would love to hear from those who might have suggestions of what would really help you to live better lives. What do you wish you had help with? What areas of your life are most difficult to cope with? How could occupational therapy help you? Thanks.

Seth, this is late responding, but better late than never. Each person has different disabilities and needs and as this is a "permanent" disability page, you may find if people had been working, they may have had to give up working completely as their ailments worsened over time.

I would like to suggest that using the link I've provided, contact the Independent Living Center (ILC) nearest to you http://www.ilusa.com/links/ilcenters.htm and speak with them. They may be able to provide more factual material for your project or direct you to the state agency that could provide you with more info.
